This was the first time visiting any ALDI store.
I got out of my car and walked to the store entrance, then went to get a shopping cart. Unfortunately for me all the shopping carts were locked up and chained together. On closer inspection apparently I needed to deposit 25 cents to unlock a cart. Since I don't carry cash of any kind I was out of luck on the cart. I laughed. What a joke I thought. I have never seen any grocery store require a cash deposit to use a shopping cart. How cheap.
I went into the store to see what it was like... I was shocked to discover... yup no shopping baskets either... I had entered the twilight zone.
I walked around the store grabbed some muffins, diet coke and ham... that's all I could carry... so I checked out.
I will not be returning until ALDI are more friendly to its customers.
I noticed other customers were forced to shop and carry what they could in their arms. This is complete and utter madness.
As I was leaving the store I saw a man walk up to the locked and chained shopping carts, examine the lock, then walk away back to his car, drove off. ALDI must lose so much business like that.
ALDI US, I don't know who is managing your US operations but they must be imbeciles. I don't see how your company will survive very long in this country with such dumb policies.
ALDI's website customer service page claims "The customer is our first and second priority"... I think it's safe to say customers are NOT ALDI's first priority... second? Debatable.
Oh and by the way the name ALDI... it sucks. So cold and meaningless. Another bad move. I understand your company owns Trader Joes. Talk about a contrast in...
Read moreLove Aldi. Glad to finally see them here. Snobby shopper beware: this isn't for you.
1 - If you think you have to “pay” to use a shopping cart, then you should also know that you get paid to bring the shopping cart back after use 🙄
2 - Aldi gets many of their products from brand name manufacturers but negotiates special prices by buying in bulk under their own label. That’s why you see for example Friendly Farms Kefir in the exact same bottles that the Lifeway brand Kefir comes in because it’s from the same company. If you are conditioned to only buy brand name products, try a different store and pay more.
3 - If bagging your own stuff in turn for lower prices is too much for you, go back to where someone does that for you. Your bad review here won’t change how Aldi works.
4 - if you compare this place to the 99-Cent store you should probably go back to the 99-Cent store. No need to make up stories about chemicals in Aldi’s dairy...
Read moreWhen this store first opened, I was a bit dubious about buying what I call their 'off brand' goods. But I was pleasantly surprised with the quality as well as the lower prices. That impressed me so much that I became a regular. However, since the economy tanked and prices got higher everywhere else, so did the once impressive lower prices at Aldi. I used to buy several of their packaged Ceasar Salads at $1.99 apiece. Today you can't get one for any less than $3.99. I stopped buying them when that happened and have now changed my shopping habits and choice of stores that I patronize. These days I pay much more attention to the flyers arriving in my mailbox so I can get the best prices for things I buy. There are still items that are unaffordable, but it's a sign of the times and many of us must act appropriately in...
