Five Below — Local services in Sioux City

Great store, good location, great selection of items. Five Below advertised online and on their app (which I'll save that review for another day!) that they were doing yet another new squishmallow squad drop on Sunday. I called this particular location on Friday to make sure they were going to have this new squad drop, and the guy, who had no idea what squishmallows were, had to ask his supervisor if they were going to have the new squish. The guy told me they were, so my daughter and I planned to go!

Well, when we arrived today, Sunday, they did not have the new squad, they had the last Squishmallow drop from a couple weeks ago! If you follow squishmallows, and know what they are, you can understand why I was a little upset! I live about an hour away from Sioux City and this Five Below, so that's why I called to make sure they were going to have this new squad. We did find one squishmallow from the two previous drops that we didn't have, and other cute things, so our trip wasn't a total bust. We were just excited to see the new squad! Normally, this location doesn't participate in the squish drops, so my gut instinct was telling me they weren't going to have them. But that's the chance I took. Iowa isn't so popular with the Squishmallows, so I'm lucky to find any in my area.

Just wish all Five Belows, including this one, had the new squish squad when a new bunch comes out! Would make it convenient for me, and save me from having to buy them from the...

I actually really like this place quite a bit. I don't know why it's called five below anymore because they have things up to, like, nine dollars. However, I understand that we're at the beginning of a recession or in the middle of one and prices on things are going to go up. I found a lot of things I was unexpecting to, such as Disney ornaments, unicorn Barbies, different kinds of crayons, including skin tone colors of all colors, and some really good educational children's books. I was also able to find a Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets ornament, which surprised me and delighted me how long because that is my favorite book out of the series. The workers were not overly friendly, but I understand because it is a holidays, however I feel like this is the time to be the most cheerful most willing to help people. I was also surprised by their beauty care section because I was able to find a lot of things for a family we are taking care of this Christmas and I really think that five below is going somewhere. This store is similar to dollar stores in that most of the merchandise is under $5, hence Five Below, but the prices can vary. I felt like the items might be a bit better quality than what you usually find at most dollar stores. I loved the variety of items they sell! From exercise items such as mats & smaller weights to candy, snacks, toys, all manner of clothing, as well as tech items such as ear buds and phone case decals. Unfortunately, like most smaller stores there was only one cashier so the wait was longer, but such is life. Now, the Ladies room was a problem. It and the water were quite literally freezing!! Not sure if they want to prevent employees from lingering or what. I didn't mention it to the cashier since I'm sure there's nothing they could probably do about it. It did have a nice, pleasant & bright atmosphere that I would enjoy returning to if we had one in my neck...
