Wasn’t impressed with this visit. The burger I got, the red, Robin, gourmet burger, comes with an egg on top. Usually, food with an egg on top. The yolk is soft however, in this case it was cooked through. They advertise, bottomless fries it would have been great if our food server would’ve asked if we wanted more. Also, the food server never stopped back at the table for refills on beverages. My wife’s barbecued chicken wrap was heavy on wrap and very light on chicken and barbecue sauce. I understand restaurants are having a hard time trying to control cost. However, as a customer coming in, I’m having a hard time justifying, going back to a restaurant where I feel the food was poorly prepared. Likewise, I understand that food servers work for tips. I guess what disappoints me is maybe some servers think that that’s an automatic. I will tip you on your service. If your service is poor, the tip will be poor. Food not being prepared right is not the servers fault. It would have been nice had the server come back to of checked on us. The last thing that bothered me about this visit I like the convenience of paying at the table. The kiosk that they have at the table Automatically starts the tipping at 20%. Yes you can downgrade or upgrade from there. I feel it’s a little pretentious to start at 20%. As I was saying that restaurants have a hard time making a profit with the economic times were in. Read moreWent with mom for dinner last week. We were greeted immediately by the host and sat at booth in the bar area. Our server was nice (sorry I can’t remember her name), prompt, explained the kiosk thing on the table that you pay the bill with and can sign up for rewards with (as an ex-server I appreciated her smooth but not pushy pitch), and checked on us throughout our stay. Mom got the whiskey bbq burger with onion rings which looked delicious. Since I’m watching my calories and sodium (sign I’m getting old lol) I choose the avo-Cobb-o salad with balsamic vinegar dressing which came on the side. The menu listed calories for each item which was handy (dressing not included). I asked for a small thing of bleu cheese dressing when ordering just in case since that’s what I’d normally order with this kind of salad, but wound up not needing it. My salad was big and delicious! Mom really liked her order too. We sat awhile after eating just catching up and our server checked on us to make sure we had enough water to drink. Not gonna lie I sometimes used to use that line to gently get ppl out the door lol but it didn’t seem to be the case here. Our food was mediocre. Both of our burgers were a straight mess. This is something that really was unusual for us. The patties were not hot and the presentation was sloppy. There was sauce everywhere. We couldn't eat them without blowing through all our napkins. My wifes fries were meh and my broccoli had an odd taste to it, but I really couldn't place it. The only bright side of the food was our chocolate shake which was excellent.
Service... I truly understand how the worker shortage is effecting all businesses and that the order takers (I mistakenly said server) are busy. However, they need to pay attention to their tables. We went through our entire meal with the order taker only stopping by twice. Once to take our order and once seconds after our food was delivered. We were never offered refills of our drinks or sides... not once. I had to go to the bar to ask for straws for our drinks as our order taker would seem to purposely avoid our table.
