I like Ralph Lauren brand. Normally I go to a RL outlet because of the better prices but there isn’t one in this area- just relocated to Slidell about 5 months ago from South Carolina. I stopped shopping at Dillards years ago but since this is close by my home and decided to give it a try. I’d just say they could have better social skills in this Dillard. Gave it two stars because one lady did acknowledge me. Maybe an Asian or Hispanic woman near the Boss/Armani brands. Associates when a person is walking around seeing you watching them but you don’t acknowledge them it makes them feel as if you’re not interested in their business but you’re watching them for other reasons. If you’re not going to acknowledge them then just don’t come around. It’s ok to ask if you need something and if I say no then move on. I asked one lady for help with a size and it felt so un personal. I don’t think the lady looked at me once. Went to the big and tall section don’t even think the associate noticed someone in his area because he had his back turned. Went back to the RL section and see the same guy looking at me from across the aisle when he realized I notice he turns his head. Maybe because I was in a ball cap shorts and tshirt. Maybe I looked more like a thug to them than a civilized Career driven Navy veteran. Maybe that’s not the case all but my experience wasn’t a good one. I’ll try again only because there’s not many other options in Slidell but if it doesn’t work for me I won’t return as Dillards lost its position as one of my favorite...
Read moreThis was one of the worst retail experiences I have had in a long time. I was shopping for new semi casual clothes for work. As soon as I walked in, I was asked if I needed help. That's fine, but soon I was asked by everyone in the men's department. Then each person ended up asking me again and again as if they had the memory of a goldfish. After I picked a pair of dress slacks and a nice button down I went to pick out some dress shoes. They were marked down to 39.99 and the clerk brought me my size. As I was trying them on, the clerk started asking my wife about her race and where she was from and would not drop the subject even though it was making my wife uncomfortable. Whatever, people are ignorant, I still didn't want this clerk to miss a commission because of that. So she says she wants to ring the shoes up separately from the clothes. I said that's fine. She rings up the shoes at 79.99 and starts trying to rush the transaction. I said "nope". I brought her the shoe from the display that is marked at 39.99. She says that is a sales shoe. It was the exact same shoe but is a separate "sales shoe". So she goes back and brings me the same shoe again but in a smaller size and said that they dont have my size and asked if I could wear that size instead. At this point, I'm for sure that this is a shady transaction. We just said no thanks and left. It's cool, I'll just...
Read moreI would give 0 stars if possible. On 12-6-16 my wife and I came to purchase a POLO shirt. We weren't in the store 2 mins. before I noticed a employee FOLLOWING & STALKING us which is HARRASMENT. Then a few mins. later a SLIDELL POLICE OFFICER shows up & begins to move everywhere we moved which is HARRASMENT so I just purchased the shirt without trying it on because I felt so UNCOMFORTABLE & HARRASED!! I made it home & tried it on but it was too small but this could've been prevented if we didn't feel like we were being FOLLOWED..so today 12-7-16 we returned it for another shirt but there was a $3.00 difference but I wanted my CASH back & NOT a gift card BECAUSE I WILL NEVER SPEND MY MONEY AT A STORE THAT I DON'T FEEL I CAN SHOP AT WITHOUT BEING FOLLOWED,STALKED,OR HARRASED. Not at anytime did we give them any reason to believe we were stealing for them to STALK us..Dillards needs to STOP STEREOTYPING CUSTOMERS..it's the ones who you think aren't stealing but are robbing your store. I really wanted the shirt or I would've just gotten a FULL CASH REFUND & NOT EXCHANGED IT AFTER BEING HARRASED..CONGRATS ON TREATING YOUR CUSTOMERS LIKE THIEVES & GIVING THEM A WONDERFUL TIME SHOPPING IN...
