"A great new shopping experience in Slidell." Shopping used to be an experience where you could window shop, be amazed by something new, and be drawn into the stores by sales people greeting you at the door. Not so at the new "Mall".
The pluses are that you can drive up to where you want to shop. Everything is convenient. (If you know what you are looking for and don't need to hunt for something to buy such as a gift!) New Stores to the area like Kohl's. New Restaurants to try. I highly recommend Red Robin but get the app before you go to take advantage of savings! Cheddars was also a great place to eat. I love Felipe's Great food but spicy! Five Guys taste great, large portions but watch out for grease!
The downside to this mall is the Stores are really far apart, requiring you to move your car from section to section if you wish to visit multiple stores. Further during the summer with all of the Hot Parking lot pavement this mall is going to be boiling hot!!! I won't be shopping there in the day time it was already really hot last weekend.
Another thing is very few stores have window displays. So you can't window shop.
There are no real stores for Kids. There is 5 Below, everything in the store is $5 or Less. I feel like it is a more expensive Dollar store, selling lots of plastic items, party supplies, miscellaneous stuff and a large Candy section. It is geared toward older children and adults.
I do love that Michael's Arts and Crafts is in Slidell now. It does have some children's toys and arts and craft things. It also has an app to help locate items available.
Shopping is more of a chore at this mall. It is less enjoyable. I find my self passing up stores I used to frequent because it is too far away from the store I have to visit to...
Read moreI am new to the Slidell area, & I live very close to the Town Center— however, the choice to move here may just be to my detriment, financially, because there is just SO MUCH to do & see & buy!! 😂
First, the Fremaux Town Center is just off of the interstate; its literally impossible to miss all the signs for the stores, restaurants, & other businesses that are located smack dab in the middle of Slidell, both coming & going to or from New Orleans.
Second, the variety of restaurants at the Town Center are fantastic. From higher-end steak houses to cult favorite food stops (Panera Bread; Chipotle; 5 Guys), the restaurants & dives here can accommodate a fancy Friday night date or a get-together with family and friends after church on Sunday afternoons. And don't forget that the Starbucks is the very first "driveway" once you're through the Fremaux Town Center entry (take an immediate right...☕#coffeeholic☕#willsing4coffee☕#starbucks4lifeyall☕).
Also, as an aside, the folks here & at every other establishment I've walked into at the Town Center, have all been super friendly.
Last, the shopping experience itself is superb. The option of stores & businesses will please the whole family. A few places that I love to spend time in are... • Books-A-Million (BAM) • Michael's (craft & hobby store) • Aveda (If you have never walked into this store, I encourage you to do so, even if its just for the free tea & the indescribable smell that I imagine a part of heaven must smell like! Personally, that smell & the delicious tea, as well as the all-natural, no animal testing products, are the reason I keep going back) • Dillard's • Kohls • ... And many many more
I hope that you enjoy your time here, & if you like my review, please say so!
Peace & love, "that...
Read moreI found there were too many things i didnt like to rate higher than three stars. The atmosphere and design of the property is actually quite nice. Nice landscaping, traffic circles rather than intersections, amd despite first impressions as i drove in, its actually much easier to find your way out than you will initially think it is. Now the negatives. For one, this is not a "Mall" as Northsquare (the one they say this place is killing) it is a collection of plazas. As in every store front exits into the parking lot. So if you plan a day of shopping and its going to be raining, you and your stuff and interior of your vehicle are going to get very wet. Second, other than Best Buys limited selection, there is no music store, and both the Books A Million and Michael's are the smallest floorplans i have ever seen either store use. For me personally i prefer enclosed malls. If the Northsquare continues to plummet the way it has i will just being going across the causeway to Metairie from now on. However, there IS a very nice selection of places to eat over here, so we will be back for that if...
