Yankee Candle — Local services in Somerville

Far below average. I understand mask mandates and the purpose they serve, however, lowering my mask to sniff a candle poses no more risk than eating at a restaurant with my mask down the entire time. The manager ran across the store to tell me to pull my mask up while I was far more than 6 feet away from anybody (until she stood next to me) and then proceeded to explain to my husband how you can "smell" through your mask. Absolutely absurd. Apparently covid only exists in Somerville. Also if smelling through the mask is so easy than how much protection does it actually provide? If you plan on smelling the product before you buy I suggest you shop in lynnfield or another...

I stopped into the store yesterday to purchase some Whipped Matcha candles (sooo good) and was helped by Erinn; she helped answer a bunch of my questions about the new wax melts in that scent and even gave me a coupon for August that would help reduce the cost of one of the wax melting devices they sell, which I really appreciated. This is a great location and the attendants are usually very knowledgeable and friendly, and Erinn was definitely both of those things. Thanks again...

I showed up at 6:45 pm to purchase something and was met with a locked door. They are typically opened until 8 pm daily. I asked the sales associate (through the glass door) why they were closed since even with holiday hours they are opened until 7 pm and I couldn’t make out what she said since I can’t heard through a glass.
