Let me start this off saying I've been riding some type of bike consistently for over 18 years, whether it was bmx in my teens to when I got into mountain and road biking about 8 years ago. I had bought a mountain bike about two years ago direct from the manufacturer. I took it out twice on flat pavement and got a flat. I started riding my other bike and just ignored the new one. Decided to take it to scooters for minor adjustments on the disc brakes and a tube change(I recently moved back to the area of souderton, where I grew up and used to take my bikes here). I was promptly greeted and explained the bike and that it needed minor adjustments. I was upsold on the $80 tune up. I didn't have time to argue the cost of such minor work and wasn't even explained in detail what it included(I visited their website and see I likely could have had it all done a lot cheaper). The bike was ready the next day. I can say the tube was replaced but can't speak for much else. The receipt has a list of "what was done", including "wiping down the frame", the frame still clearly has some black fingerprints from when I brought it in. If I'm paying $80 for a tune up, the most basic and easiest thing included in that price should at least be done. If they can't even wipe the bike down, what else did they skip? I'm very disappointed and feel like I was taken advantage of and feel bad for people who don't know any better and walk in. Absolute rip off, $80 for a tube replacement, and I brought the...
Read moreTook my bike there in October and the sales person talked me into a sturdier tire on the rear of my bike. He said it would be a couple days. They called me back after 10 days and told me the tire was unavailable. They said they would fix the bike with a standard tire and when my other tire came in they would replace it. I said due to cold weather I wouldn’t be biking and would wait for the tire I had ordered rather than paying twice. He told me probably two weeks. After 3 weeks I called the store and they told me the tire was back ordered but shouldn’t be long. After another month I called again and demanded a date for the repair. He said he would call me back. I missed the call and they left no message with an eta. On 1/15/25 I finally had enough and went to pick up my bike. They had it in the basement, out of sight out of mind. I could forgive the part issue although 3.5 months seems ridiculous. The real disappointment was that they never reached out to me, I had to call monthly. I will never go back...
Read moreI can't think of a better customer service experience, in any category, than what I've had from Scooter. He and his sons truly love what they do, and it comes across in the genuine interactions they enjoy with their customers. I brought in my old, beloved road bike prepared to spend hundreds bringing it up to date, feeling embarrassed surrounded by all the new, pricey technology. Scooter put me completely at ease. He even spoke flatteringly of my bike, clearly appreciating that not everyone can afford the latest carbon fiber creation. What's more, he convinced me to do what was best for my bike, which was different and hundreds cheaper than what I intended. Much later, when I got myself back up to speed and it came time to buy a $3,000 bike for RAAM, I made sure he got my business. He gave me an unbeatable deal. It's great to have someone I completely trust backing me up like this. GO...
