I really dislike the pharmacy here. I’m changing to CVS. We are newer to the area, and I have always used Giant Eagle pharmacy... for years. I have never been dissatisfied. For me, a pharmacy is fine as long as I get my prescriptions. The end. Customer service is always a plus and I like that, but at the end of the day- doesn’t make or break my decision to leave a pharmacy. Since moving here 11 months ago, I have had so many problems. I have never had to wait an entire 24 hours for a prescription that has been called in. I have never before been turned away when I go into the pharmacy because I didn’t have the courtesy to allow at least 24 hours. I can understand having to wait an hour even, or being told I have to come back because they don’t have whatever meds on hand. But at this giant eagle it is regular/standard to be turned away because I am inconveniencing them. This past time, I got a message stating a prescription was ready. My husband went to pick it up for me, and was told to come back tomorrow- not sure why. I went back again the next day, and was told I have only one of two ready- that they were waiting for the doctor to call back to clarify the amount. I told her to check because I specifically talked to my doctor about this and it turns out, magically, she found it. I still had to wait about 35 minutes for the second prescription. I went 2 days without one and 1 day without another. These pills are essential to my health and cause extreme withdrawal symptoms if a dose is missed. This is not ok. Even if someone is a pain in the butt, which I personally do not believe I am.... but even so- I don’t know anywhere that literally turns you away because they don’t appreciate the “audacity” of inconsiderate patients. Nope. Not cool. I never thought I would write a review about a pharmacy. But after 11 months of this happening- every.single.time.... I’m doing it. Save your fuel perks because I don’t care about that. I care about my and my...
Read moreThis location is a joke. Every time I go into this giant eagle after work this is always an issue going on. Last time the lady at customer service was yelling to customers getting in line saying she was closing customer service down early at 5:30 because she had to catch her bus, meanwhile the hours on the signage at the desk state customer service is supposed to be open from 8 AM to 8PM which inconveniences shoppers who get off work after 4PM. Today 6/4/24 I go in to get 1 item at 8:00PM and the customer service desk is closed and all the self check lines are closed with only 2 cashiers working the regular lines with all the customers forming lines spilling down the aisles. I immediately put my item back after seeing this mess. But what upset me the most was seeing multiple staff members standing around talking both inside and outside with no one trying to jump in and help get the check out lines down. This customer service is unacceptable. Giant Eagle has to do better. Management needs to hire more staff to handle the volume in the afternoon and Management needs to jump in and help work the registers and not leave workers unattended on the registers without baggers to help speed up the customer experience. I will not be back to this location, I will stick to shopping at Legacy Village location who keeps there checkout lanes clear and fully staffed and their customer service desk actually stays open till 8PM. Please do better and stop treating residents in the...
Read moreThis is my least favorite Giant Eagle. They never have enough cashiers, they try to make everyone use the self-checkout stations - which I hate! And they also have long lines.
And I can never find anything. Granted, I don't go there very often, but even in stores that I've never been to before, I can usually find things, because there's a certain logic to how the stuff is arranged. It's as if for this store, they grouped together similar items - but that's as far as the planning went. They then just randomly strew those groups of items about the store. It's an awkward, confusing layout. It does have prices and selection consistent with other giant eagles (which I consider to be pretty decent), and this location is open 24 hours, so that's why it gets two stars instead of just one. BTW, if you do get the notion to go grocery shopping at 3 in the morning (as I have, a couple times)... BE WARNED: During the overnight hours there are NO cashiers. And they shut down all but one or two of the self-checkout stations. So, since people are generally slow at checking out their own groceries - and people that do it in the middle of the night tend to be even slower than most - You may be surprised to find that you'll STILL Have to Wait in Line, In the middle of the night! & A slow one at that! Thanks for reading. Shout out to the Giant Eagle at Legacy! That's the...
