Friends of Animal Rescue — Local services in South Padre Island

They took my service dog and refused to give her back. They told me she was mistreated, but refused to see the fact that Coyotes here on the island attacked her. They said I was unfit then said they'd charge me over 1,000 dlls to give her back. I've been her mamma for over 5 years and they decided to just keep her. What they should do is get rid of coyote on the island instead. I had her fixed and on vitamins.. they post that she's good with other animals, that's way far from the truth. My baby girl attacked any other animals around me. She was spoiled and was the only one. Friends of animals advertise about animals as if they know them better than their owners and I'm telling you, my girl IS NOT GOOD WITH ANY OTHER ANIMAL.. JUST BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T BARK DON'T MEAN SHE WONT KILL. BE CAREFUL WITH THEIR FULL DESCRIPTION OF THEIR JAIL MATES. I KNOW MY GIRL WAS NOTTT GOOD WITH OTHERS. THEY ADVERTISE THAT SHES GOOD BECAUSE SHES LAID BACK AND CHILL BUT BEWARE.. SHE BITES AND EATS UP HER PREY. IVE HAD TO RELEASE PUPPIES, POSSUMS AND CATS OUT OF HER JAWS. Staff is very welcoming,A lot of cool items to buy for all seasons of the year and dog boutique section too for your furry friend,a bunch of cute dog outfits.As of now they have 4 puppies that will be up for adoption soon. All the animals are vaccinated and spay/neutered when they are placed up for adoption. They have about 10 kittens up for adoption already spay/neutered. 3 adult cats that are up for adoption Spay/Neutered and Vaccinated. When you go sometimes you'll get lucky and see one of the dogs or puppies getting a bath. Overall the place is awesome they have a store as soon as you walk in and then the animals up for adoption as you walk towards the back. Everyone is very helpful if you looking for a certain item. I fostered a Great Dane lab for 5 days and then adopted her she had been at the shelter for over 200 days she is the smartest lovingest social with people dogs she even met horses and loved them in the short week that I've owned her she has learned so much and has bonded and trusted me so quickly I have nothing but respect for the rescue center for the way they take care of their dogs and how well they fit the dogs to the potential owners they also work so hard with you to make sure that you have everything you need to make the transition easy I couldn't say enough good about them plus they are a no kill shelter amazing they run a thrift shop taking donations and sell to finance themselves so if anybody loves animals...
