Galleon Bay — Hotel in South Padre Island

I cannot in good conscious give a good report of my stay at the Galleon Bay location. This site is horribly maintained on the verge of dangerous. The tiles in the hallway were buckled causing extremely dangerous footing and it was very hard to get the luggage carts over the cracked and missing tiles. One of the gates did not work at all and the other one was actually removed for half our stay there, so was unsecure. On my last day there I took a very painful fall due to the accumulated water-oil in the parking area, by the time I drove home I had to be helped out of my car and have so far missed a day of work. This could have been avoided by the simple application of a textured finish to the parking area to create better traction. We paid thirteen hundred dollars and I would have expected better accommodation or at least a site...

The sunset view here is to die for!! Beautiful bayside scenery! The condo my wife & myself were in was very cozy and well kept. Definitely enjoyed all the amenities the owner provided. Cable, Wifi, and a Keurig were definitely a plus! Private dock for your boat, and pier to fish off, or to just suck up all South Padre has to offer. Property has a decent size pool, and a hot tub. Was one block off of the main road that runs the entirety of the island which was nice. Literally right down the street from numerous bayside favorites, and only 3 blocks west of the beach. We stayed in #302|Great bay view, pool, fishing was just ok but its close to everything.|If you dont like hauling a bunch of stuff to the beach just throw it in the car or truck, drive ten minutes north to entrance 5 or 6 and drive on the beach. No 4x4 needed|Great restaurants but use trip advisor|If you get tired of the beach NBD goto their pool here.
