This is the Cafe Karma at South Padre Island! Hair was in my food and the owner’s response to me was “we are human and things happened and took my food to the trash! Then he came to the family sitting next to us and and got after a special needs little girl and her siblings and told them to pick up the board game from the floor very rudely! Kids were perfectly fine and having a nice peaceful morning and the owner with his horrible customer service and ruined everyone’s day! The he kicked everyone out of the restaurant! Horrible customer service by the owner! His staff couldn’t calm him down, at how aggressively he was talking to all of us! He didn’t even want to refund us back for the sandwich which had a Jaír in our food, his cashier had to give us a refund behind his back! Video is on Facebook! Check it out and hopefully no one has to go through this! They didn’t wear mask or hair net while cooking our food, god knows what else happens back there! He is lucky we did not call the police on him! We really thought he was going to hit someone of because of how aggressive he was acting! One as a restaurant owner should have bette manners and better way of talking to its customers! Hope you all see this and think twice before going to this place!

Read moreNot a great visit. My husband and 12 year old were wearing their masks, we clearly care about following the rules. But I can't wear one for health reasons. I went straight to a table, but needed to approach the ice cream cabinet to see flavors, briefly. I stood as far back as possible from the employees. Was told a customer called to complain and I needed to not be standing there. So I had to move 10 feet to sit at the table, where it was okay for me to be mask-less... because sitting magically makes it better. Only person who could have been complaining was the single other customer, who was picking up a to-go order. The one who was not wearing her own mask correctly over her nose, but felt it necessary to complain about me. So sick of being discriminated against. If they were going to pick a customer to back up, how about the one with a medical condition instead of the one complaining when she wasn't even dining in? Husband's malt was mediocre, ice cream was Blue Bell (which I'll just buy at the store next time), and the whole treat out with the family was ruined by how we were treated. Won't return, and don't recommend based on...

While I was there, one gentlemen had to wait over 25 minutes for a simple black house coffee. Other people that ordered after him, with more complex beverages, got their order before him. He had to ask multiple times and finally they went to get him a coffee but they didn't even have any made. His food had easily gotten cold by the time they could give him a coffee (This is a coffee shop btw)
My wife and I also had multiple people receive their order before we did. Nearly 30 minutes later, we received our hot tea and cappuccino. Both of us ordered large beverages however received them roughly 1/2 - 2/3s full. When asking about it the service seemed to get frustrated with us.
All of this happened while the roads were nearly flooded so it wasn't that busy. If you don't mind waiting (and potentially getting shorted) this is a nice little coffee shop with excellent beverages and food.
