I am writing to formally express my disappointment regarding an unacceptable and upsetting experience I had at your beachfront restaurant during the start of my recent vacation.
While carrying my small Pomeranian to the bar area to order food and drinks, I was abruptly approached by a man—tall, approximately 6 feet in height, with a dark complexion—who I assume was the general manager. Without any courtesy or professionalism, he aggressively told me that my dog needed to be on a leash. Had he taken a moment to observe, he would have noticed that the leash was at my table nearby.
Shortly afterward, while I was seated and eating, the same man returned and told me to remove my dog from the chair. While I understand that policy and complied immediately, the way he delivered the message was again unnecessarily harsh and made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome.
As a result of how I was treated, I no longer felt at ease staying at the restaurant. I ended up throwing away my burger and drink, which I had just ordered, because I was too upset to enjoy my meal. What should have been a pleasant beginning to my vacation turned into an unnecessarily stressful and negative experience.
Later, I went to the hotel front desk to leave feedback and request to speak with someone in charge. The same man appeared once again. When I asked for his supervisor's contact information so I could file a formal complaint, he stated that he was “the boss” and “doesn’t take orders from anyone.” I asked again for his superior’s information, and the front desk staff told me that would be the owner. When I asked to be given the owner’s contact details, I was told to leave a complaint through the website—a platform that this same man has access to, and I am concerned my feedback will be dismissed or deleted.
This man’s behavior was not only unprofessional but also deeply discouraging. I expected a welcoming and respectful environment, especially at the start of a vacation. Instead, I was treated with rudeness and made to feel like an inconvenience rather than a guest.
I respectfully request that this complaint be escalated to the owner or a senior-level manager who is in a position to take appropriate action. I hope your team takes this seriously so that future guests do not have to endure...
Read moreI'd love to give 5 stars or more but there were a few minor issues that prevented me from doing so.
It's an excellent location with extremely pleasant staff who are very friendly and accommodating.
The rooms are recently refreshed with bright white paint and vibrant ocean themed wall murals. The beds were a bit firm but still comfortable after a full day at the beach... which is literally steps away from the room.
My issues with the room were the toilet bowl that was not secured to the floor. It rocked back and forth which made a loud clanking noise anytime you put weight on it. The towel bar was mounted on the wall directly inside the door and was a cumbersome obstacle that I have several souvenir bruises from.
There was a misunderstanding of some sort that prevented housekeeping services on one day. I'm not sure how that happened. However, the room is smartly furnished with everything I needed to clean the room myself so I got the broom out and got domestic.
The bar is awesome. It's only open from 11 to 7:30 during the off season and no live music during the week but the bar staff was excellent. They know the island and they know their business. They take your food order and give you a pager. The pager lets you know as soon as your food is ready for pick up. The Kitchen looks as if it were a room that's now converted for food service. It's simple, non assuming, and darn right good.
The Olde motel parking lot has been converted to a bar and dining patio but parking was not an issue. You get one spot per room and a tag for your windshield. Either park in one of the spaces across the street or alongside the patio dining area. It's at Beach Access 19 so don't park overnight in the wrong spot.
Beach access was beyond convenient. It was just too easy to rent chairs and an umbrella from the beach vendors for the day. It was so easy to get drinks and snacks from the cabana bar. Maybe they could extend their bar service to accommodate the beach chairs at the water front. Then you would have no excuse to move.
Yes, it is an older and smaller location. But it's charm was deserving of acknowledgement and appreciation. I might have found my new regular spot.
I have many photos to post once I figure out how on this particular...
Read moreThe drinks were very very good! They only have pinacolada in a frozen drink machine and everything else is on the rocks. They have a full bar and beers in a can. They have a drink called a turbo pinacolada which is really good it has an extra shot of dark rum with it which tasted pretty good. But the best way to get it would be the frozen pinacolada mix with strawberry mix in the cup. The food smelled very good and looked very good but both times we went we had eaten some place else on the island first. It's mostly fried food and burgers. It's right on the beach and there is a volleyball court there to play on and they have beach access which is nice. The best seating in the place is right next to the beach but its very hard to get a seat. If you order food you have to go to the bar and order your food and drinks there. Then you have to pick up your food at the window there is no waiter or waitress there to bring you anything or take your orders which is fine but when we went yesterday for the first time we had no idea and no one told us because they don't have a hostess either. Also it's a hotel as well which we didn't stay at and I would say don't unless you are looking for more of night life or younger (but over 21) crowd fun exsperience Younger people would enjoy or the fun older crowds might as well. But it's not a classy or elegant place it's a beach bar which is geared towards party animal type people. You can bring kids in there at least we saw kids in there eating and it wouldn't be bad to bring them to eat but not a place I would stay all day with a child and I would dare say it most likely but isn't a place for families in my opinion. Spring break would probably be a blast to stay there with some friends. If your looking for a fun time with adult beverages and a relaxed beach experience. Over it's a great place but it could be a little better. Also they have cups there that you can keep as a keep sake for free but you have to...
