Ocean Motion — Local services in South Padre Island

My extremely responsible teenage daughter and her 2 friends (equally responsible) went into this store. As they were walking out the clerk comes at them and begins to yell at them for breaking the merchandise abd demanding they pay. My daughter begins to tell her they didn't break anything the.g. we're just looking at shirts. The young clerk continues to yell at them until my daughter is in tears. She finally says fine I will pay for it. The girl said they broke a $6. cup, but charges them for two. My daughter demanded the two broken cups and brought them to my husband and I. One cup was perfectly fine, the other cup has an obvious manufacturing flaw. Between my daughter and her two friends they ended up buying well over 4 hundred dollars worth of clothing and souviner, but spent only spent $13.00 in this sorry excuse for a business. We come to SPI every year and have always tried to buy from different stores on the island. Will NOT be going back in Ocean Motion, not after the way they treated these three girls. Terrible customer service.the cashier(probably the owner) Made many rude remarks to both my 9 year old and i. He asked me if i lived under a rock because i didnt know how long it took a clothing printer to print a design on clothes. So when i asked how long it would take he rolled his eyes and made that remark. After i payed and was leaving he told me to "get some sun" because i was "too white".First of all: im american and naturally pale(he was hispanic so of course im not the same color as him)... And second of all what is wrong with being white? Then, when my daughter was looking at which print for her hoodie she wanted he said "these are the ugly ones" okay....shes 9! let her choose what she wants and shut up! Walked around this store for 45 minutes had at least $100 worth of merchandise in my hands. When I got to the register I was looking at a wind proof lighter for my wife when the manager looks at me and says "please don't play with the lighters I have a sign out there that says that please read it". My response was I am looking at it to see if it is worth buying for my wife to use. His response "year but read the signs and don't light or play with them. I have to many people playing with and breaking them". So I said that's OK I will purchase my stuff elsewhere and left. I am a sober adult visiting South Padre Island for the first time and this is how you treat a paying...
