I will say that this Home Depot location almost always has what I need in stock and is generally a decent experience but unfortunately there is a lot to that should be done to improve the store’s operation. For example, today I visited this location for some items to complete a home repair and found their checkout lines were being completely mismanaged. I appreciate that there is an effort to maintain social distancing during this time but the way it’s being implemented is causing confusion and customer frustration. When I approached the register I entered in line 6 feet or so from the customer being served at the register when I was addressed from behind by a security officer instructing me the line starts about 25 feet behind me. There are no markings indicating this and at the time I entered the line there was no other customer in line. To make matters more frustrating when I moved to the spot I was instructed to I was now roughly one foot from the security officer. How does it make sense to move me from a spot where I’m properly distances to a spot where I could be holding hands with their employee? Already frustrated with this poorly implemented operation, the security officer then allowed two other customers who had just walked up to enter the “line” to go directly to the register. Why was I handled differently?
I understand that this is a difficult time but corporate needs to visit these stores and visualize the process. It’s a mess. The store is more crowded than I've seen it recently and customer satisfaction and safety are suffering.
To Home Depot corporate staff, I get it. This is a difficult time. I’m personally dealing with some of the same issues within my own employment but that’s not an excuse. Visit the store and see for yourself. Please fix your process. I expect better from a large chain with all of the resources you have available. If this was how my staff implemented a process I would not only be embarrassed, I would be answering some difficult...
Read moreMe and my neighbour placed a Window Replacement order through this store for Anderson Windows, Robert made the sale by coming to our home. This was in early February 2023. They did mention that because of an elliptical window, this may take a while, like May-June. Promptly after the order was placed, the measure techs came and did the measurement, I did ask them if a template is needed for that elliptical window, and their response was No. A month after, measure techs come because Anderson apparently did need a template. Long after that, I follow up and I m told that all other windows are ready except that Elliptical window and they will ship all others and send the elliptical when ready. Weeks and months after, nothing, and I follow up to the sales guy, measure tech, the 1-800 #, the South Plainfield store where they all work, no one, absolutely no one replies their phones or calls me back, I leave voice mails after voice mails. I even called Robert’s boss and no call back. I go to the South Plainfield store and speak to this guy named Eric and he is so rude, and the only thing he says is that the window replacement is a separate division and they will call back when ready. He will send an email to see if there is any other update. Yesterday I finally get a call from one of the measure tech and apparently the template never reached Anderson so they have been waiting for it and no one from this Home Depot Windows Replacement department ever cared to follow up or find out what was the glitch. This measure tech promised to get to the bottom of it and get back to me today. Nothing. Almost $30K worth of my order and $40K for my neighbour, no updates no responses. This service from HD is useless, people who are selling this at HD are irresponsible and unaccountable, and even the store people are rude. I’d recommend to never order this from HD, definitely not from this store associated folks like...
Read moreBuyer be aware! Yesterday I went and bought an Air conditioner. So I picked up a LG 8000 BTU AC unit from THIS home depot store near my house (South Plainfield). At first appearance, the box is nicely packed and I did not suspect a thing.
When I got home and open it. Everything is nicely packed. However when I look inside the AC Unit. This Unit has been used and heavily damaged. I see big water stain inside the bottom of the AC Unit, and I see the bolts on the bottom already rusty. I paid full price for what I think is a brand new unit. The way it was so nicely packed make me think that Home Depot just got a return for the used unit, and packaged up nicely to appear brand new. Normally, people would not look inside the AC Unit as careful as I was. So they can sell it like new and nobody noticed.
I don't know whether is just this particular store, or homedepot in general. That totally destroyed the confidence I used to have in home depot, where I already spent a lot of money in the store for my house needs. Maybe I will go to Loews instead.
It's totally unacceptable to for home depot to deceit customer like that. It looks like unit was returned with a lot of water stain all over, somebody wipe it down very well, except that they could not get inside the AC unit to clean it all up. They packaged it nicely and try to sell it as a new item with full price.
So I wasted a whole day and have...
