Worst district with the most violent schools. My oldest child was stabbed at Hunter Jr and they did nothing but protect themselves legally. They let the offending child continue to be enrolled at the school being a threat to others.
My youngest was traumatized by his own teacher at Hillside Elementary. This teacher is still employed at the school and he is teaching the younger children.
At the beginning of the school year he had to send home a blanket apology note because he had yelled so vigorously at the class. My child is still in therapy after this grown man tormented him to the point I had to dis enroll him.
The school social worker and psychologist were completely inept in their duties to the children. So negligent and under-qualified in fact that they were eventually denied access to my child under any circumstances.
The playground at Hillside Elementary is so dangerous and lacking supervision that I myself had to volunteer to ensure my son’s safety every day. They would allow the much older children to play with the much younger children which would result in the much younger children being hurt by the much older children...

The District's overall theme is pass the kid at all costs and get them graduated so we can check that box and move on; bare minimum is standard. Teachers no longer teach. Few are good. Cross word puzzles and fill in the blank papers work for 3rd graders, but come on, not in highschool, that is absolute lazy on the teachers part and unacceptable!! History/English lessons as one page cross word puzzles teach nothing of substance. That is plug and chug, nothing retained. Please teach, have kids take notes, have discussions about historical events, peak their interest. Stop with the incessant YouTube video teaching. Elementary schools are mostly fine, but I always tell people DO NOT DO SECONDARY SCHOOLS WITH...

Problems:
The district policy about advanced placement is arbitrary and capricious. Worst of all, it is secertive and unreasonable. After repeated queries, the answers are not truthful.
The District School Board did not care either.
On the District website, it says that the superintendent holds "Walk in Wednesday." In fact, it is once a month event and only for one hour. Resevatiin is required. Report this misleading information to the front desk of the superintendent office. No...
