Me and my friends shop here 3 times so far, but recently visited and was treated awful. I don't blame the store, just certain employees for the bad experience. Great prices for clothing, although some clothing they sell should be removed as they are torned up and not in great condition. My friends and I gathered up clothes from our closets we never wore and still have price tags on them. We noticed there was social media postings from the store about selling clothing to them. So why not? When we entered with bags the two ladies weren't welcoming, they seem unhappy about customers coming in with bags of clothes. I get it but it's a job and you're paid to do this sort of thing. Well we asked how long the wait was and they said 2 hours. No big deal, we told them take your time. We browsed then headed to evergreen walk... later on we recieved a text saying they can't make an offer and to call or text for questions. We went back and noticed a line on the other side of the counter. The same two ladies we on the other side that we communicated earlier with. We told them we are just taking back our clothes... they said the line was over there and that someone else can assist us. So we waited in line and once we got upfront asked for our bags and then I was curious and asked why they were rejected. One of the girls from previous was rude and told the cashier it was on the slip for the reason and said "whats the issue?". I simply asked if they were out of season or not in style and she replied "we accept all seasons but your clothes aren't in current style". So I paid for my holds and left. This didn't make sense at all and also the clothes were new or worn once. They were also name brand as well like Francesca's, american eagle outfitters, old navy and such. Later on we check our bags of clothes and noticed one out of the 2 bags were checked since we fold ours a certain way, they clothes were organized as before. The bag was still tied, therefore they never checked it. I felt bad for buying clothing after this mess. My friends and I will not be returning to this particular location until the behavior of the employees change. It was unnecessary and rude for customers to be treated like this. Thankfully another location we went to was not rude and they actually checked our stuff and disagreed about the decision that was made at this location. So now I feel like it...

All of which were mostly guess bags in “like new “ condition because I preserve my bags and I even stuff them with newspaper so they don’t loose shape. Some bags were Steve Madden and the others juicy couture . My guess bags I’ve spent $50 and more on them. They took all but two bags. They gave back one bag I never used which was a Steve Madden bag and said it was because a rhinestone was missing . And the other because it was a guess (brand new) makeup bag. She said they just don’t accept makeup bags no matter what.
Out of all those bags I brought, I was given only $45.70. I didn’t openly complain because I needed the money, but I thought to myself wow….. I was better off giving them away for free which is what Ive done at savers anyway. Also, Plato’s closet is getting wayyy out of hand with being picky. They have a sign up asking for specific items such as LULULemon. Like since when did a consignment store like Platos (and like how platos closet started out being like) decide to only request really high profile brands??? The store is supposed to be a place where you can buy good things in good shape. I do feel I won’t be back either. Someone in another review mentioned clothes mentor and I hadn’t known about that place.
I will say, the store is fairly organized and clean. I was greeted when I came in. I haven’t shopped for items though since the start of the year and it was a pair of heels that was like new that I absolutely...
Read morefor background, i’m pregnant and have been getting much much bigger lately so none of my clothes are fitting me right. i got a $10 off $30 on my Plato’s Closet account that expires pretty soon so i wanted to find some summer dresses that i could fit into this summer so i wouldn’t be stuck with my tight clothes. it’s my fault i got there about 15 minutes before closing so i was scrambling to find $30 worth of stuff and i was so close to doing that right on time but the second it hit closing, the girl (didn’t get her name but she was short & had shoulder length dark hair) who had been occasionally reminding people how long they had left said to me “the registers are closed now.” in a very rude tone. and i was thinking whatever ok, i understand she would probably have to rebalance the registers after closing. so i started to put the stuff away and she said to me, again with an attitude, “i can take that from you.” so i handed it to her and she grabbed it and stomped away while aggressively tearing it off the hanger. at that point i had no reason to be in there so i walked out and my mother who had driven me there was not in the parking lot anymore so i stood outside in the dark and cried for about 10 minutes about how terribly i was just treated. it doesn’t sound super bad but it was all in the mannerisms. i can’t believe she talked to me in that way when i didn’t do anything wrong. ESPECIALLY BEING PREGNANT!!! you’d think that would maybe get some kindness points, but no....
