I was just at the store at the Valley Mall today. Trying to purchase some jewelry for my kids and wife. I had received a email from JC Penney's. for a special purchase. could not get on website . so went to the store to get them. to no avail. the lady there was rude, when she told me it may not be here for Christmas. I understand why the BOX stores are dying. I had stopped week before. Looking for a ring for my wife. Stood there for 20 min's no one even said hello or will be with you. Left went and got a drink. stopped at different store. Went back still no one at the counters. As I was leaving a cashier asked if she could get some help. Maybe this is the way you treat customers any more!! They had some similar or same thing on the floor but they were $5.00 more! She said they were more because they were there! I left at that point. The rudeness of the sales lady lack of help for me and the 3 other people that were standing there. Says it all!! It is sad our country is becoming this, I don't care! It's like you should be glad they are there! Not how can I help you spend your hard earned money! Problem solving is out the door! We will see how long before JC Penny's goes by the way side too! By the way the north side has much more professional people. But they are also...
Read morePenney’s is my go to for a freshen up of my wardrobe and make up at Sephora. Lately service is gone downhill. What use to be friendly helpful staff guiding you through a great shopping experience has turned into going to a grocery store where you pick out your items and get served at checkout. Sephora trip here’s your items , no conversation, no suggestions for new products, told to get spend my points downtown as they have better rewards. Made an appointment at the salon arrived on time to a group of 5 or more people standing around the counter and only a few people in the salon. No good morning how are you, just you have an appointment? After stating my name unfriendly “your early”.
I am hoping that j.C. Penney will get back to the basics. Greet customers, offer service and if there is a miscommunication at least care that your customer is walking away unsatisfied. This is a quick way to send customers back home with what I experienced my last 2 trips here.
So if you enjoy shopping without service this is your place, staff leave you alone. I can have this same experience shopping at home. I got used to doing this during covid. My next trip out will be at a place a bit more...

They couldn't find my ring/ care plan in the system because it was over 12 years ago & so we left & brought the care plan in to them with a receipt & they took it & said it would take 6-8 weeks to get back.
Well about 8 weeks later they call & say it got damaged from a repair & want to refund me. I was in shock. My husband had to call them and ask to see the damages. It's white gold & diamond. How bad could it be damaged & why couldn't they fix it?
Oh- they lied to me. The truth was they can't find it. It was "lost". They said the shipping label showed that the jewelry depot got it, but they're not sure what happened to it after that & are not willing to give out any information about where the depot is or help post it as missing or anything. They gave us back the purchase price of the ring, which of course gold & diamonds have appreciated in value in the past 12 years, but that's besides the point.
This ring had memories.
My newborns toes were in it, for instance.
I looked at Facebook marketplace to see if anyone was selling it. No luck. ☹ not sure what else to do. I feel like it's...
