Perfect Spot for a Business Lunch!!! I had the pleasure of visiting Twigs while in the Spokane Valley area for business. Twigs just happened to be on my list of Foodie destinations to try. I was very fortunate that my customer who I was taking out for lunch, recommended that we go to Twigs. Twigs has a few more restaurants in the Spokane area and is a small chain of upscale casual restaurants. One of the key elements that lead me to Twigs was that most of the locations had very positive reviews on my big 3: Google, Tripadvisor and Yelp. I did notice that most of the negative reviews were based on bad experiences with service or simply, someone got their feelings hurt. Being a recognized Foodie and Food Blogger, I always look for the info on the food, and most of the food reviews for this chain were four and five stars so Twigs was a no brainer. When our trio arrived at Twigs Spokane Valley location, we were greeted warmly and seated at a very nice table in a good location to see the decor of the space. Twigs is very nicely decorated with a tasteful design. We were there for lunch and it was busy, but our server took very good care of us and helped me with recommendations as I told her it was my first time there. The first recommendation was the tasty and delightful Kalua Pork Tacos with Kalua pork, House-made slaw, Creole remoulade, cilantro served on flour tortillas. This was my first experience with the Hawaiian-style Kalua Pork and twigs pulled it off with a great tasting starter. Next up was the main course, for this course, I tried the Tuna Tataki salad, made with slices of Smoked pepper-seared yellowfin, fresh romaine lettuce, shredded cabbage, cucumber, pear, ginger, bell pepper and a light a refreshing ponzu vinaigrette. This was a great dish for a lunch meal as it was not that heavy and yet still filling and not a huge portion. The tuna was fresh and the salad itself not overdressed. We all had a round of Reed's All Natural Ginger Beer which was a perfect match to a Tuna Tataki. What can I say, lunch was a hit and everyone was very pleased with the food and service. I will be back sometime to try the dinner menu.

Horrible experience and horrible food. My friend and I stopped in for an early dinner. The restaurant was practically empty. We ordered an appetizer and two salads with protein. As we waited the waitress checked on us once to refill our drinks, but when almost an hour rolled around and we still hadn’t received the appetizer we started to question where the food was. She came to the table after 50 minutes had passed and stated that the kitchen forgot the appetizer in the oven, so it was burnt. She stated that it would be about 5 minutes for the new one. It was longer than 5 minutes, but we eventually got the appetizer. Within 10 minutes we received both salads with protein. My friend added the blackened salmon to hers and I added the grilled chicken. To say that both proteins were overcooked is an understatement. They were as dry as could be. I wish I took pictures. My chicken was so dry that my fork wouldn’t even stab into the chicken. The salmon was blackened due to being extremely burnt and disgustingly dry on the inside. The waitress knew that we were not happy, yet gave us the full bill for the food. No discount or free appetizer after all of that. My friend and I were in a hurry to get to a show, so we did not have time to argue. We made a quick trip to the restroom before leaving and realized that their “trash can” was a fabric laundry hamper. The bottom was disgusting from obviously getting wet and dirty, which means that it’s been there for quite some time. I took a picture of the hamper after realizing that I should have taken a picture of the food. Twigs used to be my favorite place to eat, but it was always hard finding someone to agree to go because no one ever liked their food. Now I understand and won’t be back. Not to mention that a former employee recently advised that for an 8 hour shift, staff was only allowed an 8 minute break. This is obviously not from my own experience and something I was told, but if true… also horrendous.

We went here earlier this week after eloping. My first impression is they didn't want us there. Maybe because we called for a table without a lot of notice and had a fairly large party around 15 people. However I think they could have just felt overwhelmed which is understandable. Their demeanor got better I think after my brother so very kindly said to put everything on one check. I think that made it easier for them. Other than my first initial impression everything was great. The food was fantastic. My husband and I ordered the same dish which was a steak with a cheese sauce (I can't remember what it's called) and he absolutely loved it and I also enjoyed it. I had a couple of the huckleberry lemon drop drinks and they were yummy and well made. My friends and family all seemed to enjoy their food. What was really cool is the waitress who seemed overwhelmed in the beginning actually put a little heart on our dessert and wrote "congrats" in carmel. I really appreciate the effort. That was essentially our wedding "cake" so I'm so greatful she added that special touch. They were also kid friendly. Thank you for accommodating a large part in short notice and helping us celebrate our special day.

Made a reservation via open table for 12/23 at 7:30 for outdoor dining! My friend and I go every year for Christmas this was our 7th year. We were excited to try the outdoor dining and support twigs one of our fav local places to eat during COVID. We arrived and were told by the waiter outside that they didn’t take reservations but go inside and they “would see what they could do.” My friend and I went in where I told the manager I had a 7:30 reservation. She told me that that wasn’t possible, and they don’t do reservations. Then how was I able to make one on open table??? I showered her our conformation and She never even once apologized she then told us that they wouldn’t serve us because they closed at 8 and it was 7:30. All the while she have us Attitude acting like we were trying to lie to get in or something..... we had been waiting all week for our reservations..... All I can say is wow. I usually LOVE twigs and have amazing service but I was blown away but how rude and inconsiderate they were. ZERO empathy If they don’t take open table reservations anymore then why was I able to make one. This experience was super disheartening and I won’t be going back to twigs for a WHILE. There was NO compassion she didn’t even treat us like humans. She treated us like annoying animals she needed...
