I am honestly so mad and disappointed tonight. After weeks of not being able to go out due to health my FIL and I decided to go out to dinner tonight because we were both feeling good. We decided to go here.
As soon as a host came to get us the (im assuming manager or head server) popped out of no where and the first thing out of his mouth was "is it a service dog" which fine okay. The (manager or head server) then told the host to sit us in the back of the restaurant in a corner away from everyone else. We sat down and I placed my service dog against my leg out of anyone's walk way and the same man walked over and stated "the dog must be under the table" which would have been fine as I normally place her under the table but the tables were small and uncomfortable as is. I had to ask her to go under and we were all uncomfortable as there was no room.
My service dog was squished in the corner where I had to fold my legs the whole time just to make room for her. How would you expect a handler with a great dane or a large breed of dog that wouldn't been able to fit. Or a different reason. My dog was fully under my control and not in anyone's way by myside.
We waited a long time before even being asked what we wanted to eat. While we sat waiting we noticed how all the other tables were being waited on and visited yet it was like we didn't even exist. A conversation was going and the(manager or head server) came at the exact moment I had made a remark of "I think I'm going to say something online about this."
That was when his whole attitude towards us changed and you saw the shift. You instantly saw the shift in service. All because I said I was going to expose the place for discrimination against disabled people.
If He wouldn't have heard my remark about saying something online. The horrible service would have continued. It honestly shows how some people think of us to treat us like we are below able-bodied people. I was honestly just very disappointed at the very clear discrimination we faced all because my service dog was with me.
The service sucked and the only good thing was the food. I will never dine in again. I will not chose to be discrinated...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAzteca is going downhill fast in Spokane! Our family came in from out of town and wanted to eat at Azteca. We had stopped going to Azteca in Spokane and Spokane Valley because the quality and excellence had seriously declined; but you never know, it could have made a rebound, right?
Ah, NO! We called ahead for reservations at 4:30 PM for our family; for roughly 11 people, it was a terrible experience. The only reason I am giving Azteca 1 star is the effort of the waitress who was already working another party of about 12 people.
When we arrived at 4:20, the hostess said she would prepare our table, and we ended up not getting seated until almost 5 PM. It was a good thing we arrived early, and our family came later.
The set of tables was very close quarters to the other party in the same small area; we readjusted the tables so there was enough room to back a chair up without hitting the folks at the other table of 12+ people, and the waitress could walk between the tables.
The one waitress they had working in this area did her best; she was kind and tried to provide good service, but what can you do when there is so much demand and no ability to meet it?
It took forever to get our food; the food was cold when it finally arrived. Even though the waitress said hot plate, it was the coldest food I've ever had at a Mexican restaurant. When you get shrimp in butter sauce, it should be piping hot. The cold stuff like PICO and guacamole should be cold, and the beans, rice, and main entrƩe should be hot. Instead, the guacamole and PICO were warm from being under the heat light for a long time. The entrƩe was cold, along with the beans and rice. It was not a quality food experience!
Azteca could have just said we cannot support your reservation due to staffing!
Instead, it was a Greek tragedy from the start! I know the plandemic caused a massive disconnect in staffing, customer service, and support, but in this case, the waitress did her best in a bad situation. We gave her a great tip, but the leadership at Azteca set their folks up for failure in this situation. IT NEEDS A LOT OF...
Read moreI was just in Mexico for a month and a half so I was excited to order some al pastor tacos which I ate almost every day during my stay in Mexico (Guadalajara [JuanacatlÔn] and Mexico City). Although the food was edible, I was slightly disappointed as it did not taste as juicy and flavorful as real al pastor tacos taste. They just tasted like bland pork tacos.
Authentic al pastor tacos get their meat from a vertical spit roast where the juices from the top drip onto all the pieces of meat below. My meal didn't taste Mexican... it was obviously inspired by Mexican cuisine, but it did not taste authentic since the flavor was lacking and the meat was slightly dry.
I would be willing to return and try something else, but I won't have al pastor tacos from there again unless they specify that the item is new/improved due to using a real spitroast with freshly sliced cuts of meat in order to recreate the authenticity of Mexican al pastor tacos. Smaller tortillas or more meat, and rubbing/cooking the tortillas in oil (or heating it in oil a little more if they actually coated the tortillas with oil) for a few seconds would have been appreciated because that would have made it closer to the taste and texture and experience one would expect if they were hoping to eat authentic...
