I would not recommend this school if you intend on passing your state board exam.
This school, while the staff is very friendly and makes you feel very welcome, is much more concerned with enrolling new students then making sure current students succeed and pass their state board exams. I received no help in preparing for the test despite my requesting it multiple times and as far as I saw the entire 6 months I attended school there was only 1 class being held 1 time regarding state boards which I could not attend due to the externship I had enrolled in. The externship opportunity they advertise as having was completely sought out and set up by myself and I was even responsible for logging my own hours and doing all the paperwork, then they used the groundwork I had laid to offer the same opportunity to other students.
My classmates and I were only issued knowledge tests for the first few weeks of school and then never again. There was no formal bookwork or study time and we were told that we were responsible for finding time to study our textbooks ourselves but when we would ask questions regarding what we were studying our instructors didnāt know the answers and didnāt make an effort to find out the answers to our questions. We were told regularly when we struggled with learning certain skills to look it up on YouTube if we were confused. The instructors were very personable and nice but detrimentally unprofessional. One incident occurred where an instructor yelled at students and called them names because another instructor was not invited to a dinner some students were attending after school hours.
The kit they issued us at the start of school was well stocked with supplies that had been purchased off Wish and Amazon as opposed to reputable beauty supply stores. We were told specifically in orientation that our kit was to be used to start our careers after school and we were to use school supplies for any services we would be practicing but then we were then informed later into school that we needed to use our kit supplies for learning the services and that the school would not allow us to use their supplies. We even had to leave school one day to go buy our own wax sticks to participate in the waxing class that was being held.
The many positive reviews you see on Google is due to them gathering every new group of students together during their first week and instructing them to leave a 5 star review for the school. It was presented as mandatory.
I ended up passing my boards and obtaining my esthetics license but after paying them $12,000 for an education I would expect more. This is in no way criticizing the instructors as I do not believe they have control over how the school is run. I regard this school to be detrimentally disorganized and overly concerned with quantity of students over quality...

Crystal is amazing at giving you all the information you need, and what to do and what not to do whem microblading, what to use and what not to use, and what are some of thw pisments out there. I was thought everything you need to know the correct way on how to do proper infection control to how to get the right shape and how to show proper instructions on the after care, before we got started on our models she made sure we had the right set up everything was done right and sanitary. And as we where doing the models she walked around to see how it was going. So all in all amazing! I also took two programs here back to back, esthetics and master esthetics, what you need to know before coming to this school is you need to be self driven and also a need to learn! As I was signing up for school I was told we had no theory in school just taught the basics on what you need and how to pass state boards and professionalism and how to do everything the right way. It was a good school all in all, and also when I started my teacher was great and answered any questions I asked her and if she didn't know she would find out for me. For her being a brand new teacher and still learning how to teach she did good, only down part is we did not get our teacher enough as she always got pulled away from us to do other things she needed to do, and that was the hard part as when at times we needed her she would not be able to over see or help out, but it wasn't the worst, as students we would have to just figure it out like we would have to in the real world. The school is obviously not going to be perfect but they do teach what they need to, and they try their beat, as for masters program Thy taught us and she is very informational and can answer all your questions or she checks online to check guidelines of what is and what is not allowed in thw state of Washington, I learnes everything I needed to learn in the masters and even extra, I'm glad I chose this school to do my schooling. I love the staff who works here and how hard the work for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am a former cosmetologist. I have been for 9 years. This place is a disaster. They have people pay for schooling but donāt provide all of the tools. Which idk how that works... and dollar store isnāt a professional place of supplies for a field like this. Disinfectants SHOULD ALWAYS BE PROVIDED BY THE SCHOOL! Not students. I also notice in the reviews, this salons go to response is, āweāre sorry, thereās a misunderstanding you werenāt in our client data base..ā as if people wonāt catch on to this dishonesty. I donāt condone unprofessionalism especially in this field. And Iād be more than happy to turn this place in as I know it would fail sanitation through the state along with much more. When people pay for schooling, you should be providing them the proper tools and sanitation! If you cannot provide those VERY IMPORTANT THINGS, do not bring people into the school unprepared as that is on the SCHOOL! I went to Paul Mitchell and the Price I paid for school included my tools and proper sanitation tools! I sure hope to see this improve because nothing sucks more than seeing a bunch of cosmo desired girls get scammed and lose out on such a great career over the wrong School choice! To my cosmo desired girls out there... choose a school that would get you chosen! Lots of Spokane salons are Paul Mitchell based.. and Glen Dow is a great place to learn as well! Itās hard but it pays off when you pay to go to the right place that provides...
