Arriving there at 7:05 pm, waiting for 30 min to somebody to assist us. Came across an older lady that had some price stickers with her, asked her if she works there, she responded in an hesitant voice and was like no, and yes and asked me what i need. I told her i need assistance, then she said i will send someone. After that a sales person name Laurie shows up, and i asked her i need the pricing on a table, she was like ok she wrote them down on her block note, and said she has to go check them in the system, and will come back. 7 min later she comes back, and tells me the pricing, i asked her is that the best price you can give me, she was like sir i don't like to haggle, and negotiate i gave you the best price, i'm like ok let me talk to the family. You don't have to much time cause the window closes soon , so i talked to my family, and then came back to her, she was like too bad the window closed, i was like it is still 7:50 and the window already closed ( knowing that the front desk DID MAKE A PHONE CALL to the back TELLING THEM SOMETHING ABOUT " CLOSED " ), and she was like go figure it out with them, went to the window knocked on it, everybody ignored me, knowing they where sitting behind it, and looking at me, and saying they are closed, and the manager there with Tattoo's her arm, and HAND kept on looking on the screen and turning her back, and the girls there where looking at her, until one girl opens the window, and talks to me, seems like that's the only respectful person that works there. After that my wife talked to the manager ( Turns out its the lady that told me that works there, and doesn't ) and she was like we CAN'T sell you those at this time. You gotta come back tomorrow, i'm like ma'am please it is Christmas, and we are getting those as a gift for someone, We Literally live in the Galleria Area, and the rest of the family coming from Baytown. She was like i don't care it has to be tomorrow, my wife told the Salesperson, its a sale, more profit, the salesperson responds, with i'm not desperate. I hate to see, that i'm a returning customer to Ashley's Furniture, and get treated like that. Knowing I HAVE THE RECORD TO PROVE IT, and i hate to see that somebody really worked hard to build this Cooperation , and have people like that trying to run it down to the ground. I would never treat my customers like that, knowing that i'm an OPERATION MANAGER FOR A CAR DEALERSHIP, and i'm ready to stay, with my Team to make a sale, and profit from it, and profit the company.
I think you guys need some Employees, with a Conscience, that know how to treat customers, cause i think people like that MANAGER THAT WORKS THERE OR DOESN'T , will run your place...
Read moreI usually don’t waste my time writing up reviews but I have been dealing with this for longer than I should have. Shopping at the store was fine — staff were nice, and I had no issues interacting with them. When checking furniture items and discussing the delivery date, I was told that every item (king-sized bedframe with mattress, 1 dresser, 6 chairs and dining table, L-shape sectional with chaise decorative pillows, 1 coffee table and 2 end tables) would arrive on the same day. I triple-checked this with both the manager and James, the salesperson, as I had limited availability to be home for delivery. Each time I asked, they confirmed positively, and I proceeded with the purchase. Come delivery day, I only received the bed frame and 5 chairs with the dining table. The delivery people had no idea what else they were supposed to deliver, and I had no clue that not everything was coming. I received zero communication from anyone at Ashley regarding the missing items.
To make matters worse, the bed frame arrived damaged with scratches, and 2 of the 5 dining chairs had visible marks. None of the delivered items were covered or protected in any way.
When I called about the missing items, I was told the rest would arrive 2 days later. I had to investigate and find out on my own that the 2 end tables would arrive at the end of June, which led me to cancel these items.
On delivery #2, I was still missing my dresser and the chaise section of the couch — and they had not even ordered the correct pieces. The dresser also came faulty with pertinent screws that fell out (pictures attached).
This has now been going on for over two weeks, and I still do not have everything I ordered, despite multiple confirmations from store personnel. Additionally, James the salesperson I was in contact with promised to personally deliver the missing dining chair, but that never happened. Continuing the theme of zero communication, to this day the chair is still missing.
Lorie and the manager were helpful with at least honoring discounts and potential solutions. Unfortunately, after much back and forth with Ashley, the issue remains unresolved, communication is practically non-existent, and when there is a response, it is slow. It requires me initiating and having to call them every single time for an update.
Given my limited time, I had to personally return to the store to try to resolve this in person. This way of doing business is egregious, unimpressive, and unacceptable. My time has been repeatedly wasted, and the lack of communication and accountability in EVERY aspect of this delivery...
