--- ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A New Favorite – Amazing Food and Even Better Service! I am so thrilled to have found China Bear Buffet! This was my first time visiting, and I can say with absolute certainty that it will not be my last. This place has instantly become my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area. Mr. Manuel the manager did a great job to make sure everyone is happy .. great job The buffet is incredible. The variety is huge, with everything from classic favorites like General Tso's chicken and perfectly fried rice to more adventurous dishes. The food wasn't just plentiful; it was fresh, hot, and clearly made with care. The egg rolls are crispy, the lo mein is flavorful, and the selection of desserts was the perfect sweet ending. But what truly made our visit a five-star experience was the service from Mr. Ernesto. Even though it was his first day, you would never have known it. He was incredibly attentive, making sure our drinks were always full and that we had everything we needed. He was friendly, professional, and had a fantastic positive attitude that really added to our meal. It’s clear he takes great pride in his work, and that kind of service is rare and wonderful to see. A huge thank you to the entire China Bear Buffet team for the fantastic food, and a special thanks to Mr. Ernesto for his outstanding hospitality. We will definitely be back soon

I visited a China Bear recently, expecting a hearty meal—but what greeted me instead was a scene of neglect and disgust. The food was shockingly bad, lacking freshness and flavor, while the dining area felt unkempt and unsanitary. But even more disturbing than the subpar cuisine was the koi pond stationed at the entrance. Instead of a calm and inviting welcome, the fish were crammed into an overcrowded, grimy pond. The water was murky and neglected, and the sight of those distressed koi floundering in such cramped conditions made me deeply uneasy. In this setting, it's impossible not to question the standards maintained across the restaurant. If the care and cleanliness extend only as far as neglecting live animals at the front door, what hope is there for the kitchens or serving areas? The koi pond’s deplorable state overshadowed the entire experience and cast a dark shadow over any redeeming qualities the buffet might have had. A dining establishment should reflect respect—not only for patrons, but also for the creatures it puts on display.

We have been coming here for 15 years and after today we will not my back. My son got sick as soon as we started eating. He had peaches, melon and shrimp. I asked the waitress for rags so I could clean and she was extremely rude and said she didn’t have anything to clean with. After getting an attuned with her they produced 1 small towel. Eventually they provided 2 more after I asked and argued again. She moved us tables and after a lady wiped off the table with a wet towel and halfway mopped the floor they sat another family there immediately even though 85% of the restaurant was empty. They didn’t pull the food in question and this is the bill I still got. I don’t want a free meal but the fact that they didn’t offer after all of this is unprofessional, unacceptable and it lost our business.

I rarely write reviews, but I feel inclined when an experience is really good or really bad. But where to begin with China Bear? I had been to this restaurant regularly when I lived in the area some years ago and the service and food were exceptional. My how times have changed this place. Walked in with my family of 5. The hostess didn’t greet us, yet stared at us and waited for us to initiate a conversation. When I asked for a booth (my husband is disabled and needed one) we were denied because those were for parties of 4 (even though my youngest child uses a high chair). I asked if she could sit us somewhere out of a crowded section (even just the back of a section that was already seated). She refused to sit us there, instead she sat us at a table in the middle of several crowded tables (conveniently next to a table of children all who had tablets on max volume and were screaming and running around) and then I watched her sit a party where I asked to be seated. The food was subpar at best. Several other customers and their children were shoving people out of the way to get to the food. Barbaric. The restaurant walls are falling apart from what seems to be water damage. Mold was noticeable from across the room. Our waiter was friendly and attentive, and for that reason alone I’ve given two stars. The music. My God. At first I didn’t notice it until I went to the bathroom where it was also playing. Who is running the radio?! They were playing ‘Way 2 Sexy’ by Drake. I get it, it’s Houston. But this is a family friendly establishment?? To keep the momentum of this review; I had asked another employee a question and was completely ignored. He never looked up at me or answered my question. I thought “maybe he doesn’t speak English”. Only for him to turn and start speaking with another employee in perfect English. My family was there maybe 30 minutes and we only had 1 plate of food. No one wanted to go back to the buffet to risk being shoved and stepped on again. We spent over $70 for dinner. I will never make that...

My fiance and i were in this establishment recently. We were seated at a table and my fiance said can we please get a booth. The server acted like we asked her to do something that was out of the way. She didnt seem happy at all. We both ordered our drinks and fixed our plates. The food on the buffet was not that great. Some of it was hard to chew like it had been there too long, the dressings were not labeled, the food was not labeled. Even though i knew what some of it was, i couldnt tell all of it. And i would like to know what i am eating. I needed another drink because the water had a distinct taste it was a little off.. could not get the servers attention. I get through eating what little i could find that was not chewy and hard and decided to go outside for a second. Mind you my fiance is still at the booth eating. I am almost at the door and instead of the server coming to me and asking me about the bill... she started yelling from about 50 ft away. Which was totally uncalled for and very humiliating and embarrassing. I told her that my fiance was still eating and he would pay the bill when we are completely finished . She was very rude... when i was through outside, i came back in, went to the restroom and went to sit back down with my fiance. I got cut off by the server 3 times trying to get back to my seat. . I finally made it back to my booth and told my fiance what had happened. He was upset that i was treated like that. We finished and went to pay the bill. AFTER we paid i complained and explained to the manger what happened and told her that her server needs to in fact make sure that a customer is walking out on a tab before she rudely decides to yell at someone from accross the restaurant. And again told her it was uncalled for and embarrassing and had never been treated like this before and we would not be returning to this establishment.. The manager acted like she was not concerned about the situation and i find this unacceptable. Thank you...

DO NOT COME HERE!!!

My family and I have been going to this buffet for years, it was a favorite restaurant of ours. However, I don’t know what occurred but the place has really declined.

To elaborate, we went here today and everything was so horribly distasteful. The mini cakes served were stale and that akin to a dry sponge. All you tasted was dust. It was so dry that the icing literally just came off fully intact. It was like a little Lego piece.

The macaroni was so bland, I was convinced I had lost my tastebuds. The cheese didn’t even stay on it properly. The garlic bread was the same too. I never knew herbs could be so dry and expired.

The noodles were practically doused in oil. I couldn’t even pick it up without it slipping off my fork. Even then, they tasted of just plain pasta.

On top of that, the sushi my friend tried made their mouth and tongue feel as if burned. At this point, I’m pretty sure they got some type of food poisoning.

Though, I will say that the service here was amazing. The servers and staff were so friendly and helpful. They efficiently tended to what we may have needed with great politeness. If our plates were empty or if our drinks were running low, they were quick to pick them up / refill them.

The experience and food were way too overpriced for what we received. Please do not come here. If I could, I’d give it zero stars or even less in the negatives. The worst buffet / restaurant experience I’ve had the displeasure...
