We were in this evening (4/21/22) after not having visited in several years as the food was not good last time, but we decided to give it another shot. What a mistake… the operations model has changed; you no longer order at the counter & get your own drinks, you’re served. Or, at least you’re supposed to be. We were sat at a table where we hung out for at LEAST 15 minutes without being spoken to. My husband finally went and said something to the two girls who were standing together up at the counter. A waiter came over and took our drink order (“sorry we’re out of lemons”), brought those back, and took our food order. The food came out relatively quickly, but my daughters nachos were nasty. I didn’t try them but my husband and daughter did — neither could eat them. He said it tasted like there was cinnamon in the cheese sauce. Our daughter ended up sharing my husbands pizza. We then sat there, drinks empty, for I don’t know how long. Our waiter had disappeared. My husband flagged him down and asked for the check and a box. We then waited… and waited and waited. We watched as our waiter took drinks to other customers, served food, took orders, etc. while the other employees at the counter joked around & took photos on their phones — at one point, our waiter included. After another 25-30 min we finally had our box and the check. It’s a good thing, too as we were about to just get up & leave.
Now, in the waiters defense it seemed like he was thrown out on the floor alone with no one willing to lend him a hand as evidenced by the two girls leaning against the counter joking with each other & the blonde behind the counter. If you know you’re short staffed (hiring all positions sign on the door), why continue this operations model? We would have much rather ordered/paid at the counter & gotten our own drinks. Maybe then the meal wouldn’t have been an...
Read moreI read online that this location was vegan friendly, so I knew straight away that I had to try it. It’s hard to find tasty vegan restaurants these days. After being greeted by a very friendly young woman in the kitchen, My friend and I sat ourselves and were quickly asked about drinks and then given a few minutes to order, so far so good. I ordered the veggie quesadilla with vegan cheese and my friend ordered the shrimp Alfredo, along with cheesy garlic bread as an appetizer. A gentleman that came in about 10-15 minutes after us somehow received his food before we even received the appetizer. My friend seemingly enjoyed the garlic bread, but when she received her meal, she was greeted with a small blonde hair. When we told the waitress about this, she told us she doesn’t know how that would of happened because nobody in the kitchen has blonde hair (which wasn’t the case) and tried to write it off as a fiber, but after battling us on the cause of the hair, she finally offered to have a new one made. My friend described the Alfredo as just plain gross and old tasting, though the shrimp was tasty as could be. The quesadilla was bland and tasteless and served along with processed guacamole, and gross salsa. The main thing saving this place was the atmosphere, although the music could of been turned down a bit. Regardless, will not...
Read moreThis is a nice spot for york. It usually is not packed during the day so seating or wait times are not really an issue. This is a serve yourself enviornement where you grab your food when its ready and you get your own drinks. As a sit down resturaunt it does not have waiting or at least never when i have went. Its like chuck e cheese style you get a beeper and grab your stuff. Its a mixed vibe enviornment although this is a mexican, italian, it is also a beer scene as well. The menu is broad and some items are not true to the name they have. As someone who loves both mexican and italian i can say this place has most things you may want. Things that are not correct to the name are the california burrittos. Anyone whos ever been to california and had a true california burritto know this place does not make them correctly. Its a heavy miss. It is more consistent with a steak burritto. Most the mexican food is not mexican style its definately American mexican so it lacks the true mexican flavor. Very bland meat taste and possibly not marinated. The beer is good with a good variety and the place is more lively at night. Staff is friendly enough and the place is clean. For york this is defiately in the top 10 places to eat...
