My name is Price Van Ray, So last night I go to the big Y at Springfield mass on St. James Avenue. They close at 9 oāclock and it was 815. My son was hungry so knowing Big Y makes beautiful grinder in the area I decided to go there and try the grinders. A friend of mine got one there and I heard nothing but the best. When I got there, there was a person who was sweeping the floor and I stood there for a good minute waiting for him to acknowledge me . so I decided to say are you open? He said yeah. I said Iād like to get a grinder. He said he was busy but heās the only one working. I said I donāt know what that means. Can I get a grinder? He said no that he had too much work to do since he was busy and the only one working. So I asked again youāre open right? so can you please make me a grinder. He kept saying no because he was busy and he was the only one working and he didnāt have any help. I was frustrated at this point. I didnāt know what to say or do so. I reworded my question. I asked him are you going to make me a sandwich or not? He said no because he was busy cleaning and because he was alone working there he didnāt have any time to make me a grinder. I have never heard anything like this in my life. I couldnāt believe what he was saying to me. I was disgusted so all I did was turn around and left. I was gonna talk to the manager and tell him what just happened. But I found two employees and told them my situation. I asked him if they could, please tell their manager what just happened and they said they would. They apologize for what happened. And they said if there was anything they could do. At this point I was on the verge of tears and I said no. I would just go next-door and get my son a pizza, which is something I did not want to get him. Because I heard the grinders at big Y were delicious and great and worth the money. Iām sad to say I will never go back to that Big Y again for a grinder. It is unfortunate because this Big Y was so close to my home. When I got home, I told my son unfortunately he could not get the grinder. I got him a pizza. It broke my heart...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSwitching grocery stores. Stopped at 7:30 am to do my shopping. I came in after workjng overnight shift to get a pack of bacon. There was only two packs left and the meat department said it would be a couple of weeks for delivery. One of the packs looked l very fatty and compared to the other pack had less bacon. I noticed the mgr walking by his namd is Justin and asked if he could discount due to no other packs to choose from. Those were the last two. He immediately became irritated and rudely replied "we dont make them that is the manufacturers job and i bet if i put it on the scald it will still weigh the pounds. I replied that i was only asking due to the shortage of packs. There werent anymore to choose from he said that was not his fault. First of all who is that rude and angry at 7 am as a manger. He didnt offer any other options and just shrugged his shoulders like oh well. The pack costs $ 7.00. This is not the first time i have encountered an issue with this mgr. Last time it was several boxes of cereal that had a sign up for a diffrent price but did not ring up. He would not honor the sale price in front and argued that someone moved all 8 boxes to the wrong location. I am all set i spend too much money at Big y to get treated like that. Its not what you say its how you say it. Im quite sure if anybody else has had interactions with this man it wasn't pleasent. I will also tell my friends and family we are not welcome at this location. I work in customer service and I would never treat any customer that way. Especially being a manager....
Read moreThe store is being remodeled and updated which is great but their food and prices are unbelievably high⦠first the produce especially the cucumbers are far from fresh. I find better quality produce at our local save alot and lower prices. The eggs are over priced well most the store is over priced which is why i reported this specific location to our AG office for price gouging. I bought a meatball/pork hamburger mix a few weeks ago had to return it because even though it looked fresh it smelled as if something died in the package (i still have my receipt from returning it) I told the employer that this is a bigger problem and they should inspect the whole batch but I was ignored and they never removed or inspected it. I suggest going to stop and shop because at least the quality of produce is worth the money. Other than this I can say the employees are very professional and helpful. The quality of employees is better than the quality of produce...
