This place has such great potential, so it's a shame that it's only worth two stars. I went the other day with my little sister, and they have music playing over the speakers with profanity and extremely suggestive content. I'm talking a guy asking a girl to get naked and get on the floor to have sex from my understanding. Disgusting. Then half the store has inappropriate stickers, socks, and magnets. I don't even want to have to sift through that kind of content myself, but then to feel like I have to shield my sister from parts of a CANDY AND TOY store......
The products are overpriced and a lot of the candy in the buffet is gross. These things obviously don't earn this place a two star on their own, but it's just the icing on the cake. The jelly bean buffet is great but super expensive ($9.95 per pound😱).
I get this place is trying to cater to adults and kids, but the way they are doing it doesn't work well. Even as an adult, I want nothing to do with the profane and suggestive products they sell here. I think they can cater to both while choosing to sell products that are appropriate for all ages. Again, it's a shame, the place has potential. The decorations are fun and cute and there is a reasonably large selection of products. I would recommend the candy store in Urbana, Ohio. It's smaller, but it's great and it has a nice, old fashioned candy shop feel. So if you're considering a candy shop, especially if you have kids, I highly recommend that one. Unless they make changes, my advice would be to not waste your time...
Read moreOn our way back to Columbus from the Indy 500 on Memorial Day and had mapped out a downtown restaurant to check out. Closed. Another restaurant. Closed. And another, and a fourth. In that process, we had driven by Grandpa's and said "screw it, we'll just get a root beer float and get some wendys then, let's spend our money somewhere that's actually open!"
And that's just what we did and then some.... spent over $100 on a delicious root beer float made with the root beer of my choice (recommended), strawberry milkshake, chocolate confections, candy, a 6-pack of soda, and some toys/misc goods. It was a fun time to go wild and get whatever we wanted and the selection was some of the best we've ever seen. Will definitely stop out next time we need some gifts, or just need a lazy day excursion since it's only an hour from Columbus. Staff was friendly and helpful as well.
