Purchased 8 extension cords, but was charged for 10. Found them cheaper at the next store I was at, and that was when I noticed their error. I purchased the 8 new extension cords from the second store, and went back to Hobby Lobby. Told them I needed a refund because 1. They charged me for 2 cords I didn't buy and 2. I found them much cheaper at another store. The cashier stated, "Well, who's to say you just didn't just take 2 out of your bag? You really bought 10 and are just saying that you bought 8." Ummm, well then why would I buy 8 more from a different store just to drive back here? I'll go get all of my bags out of my car if that will make you happy. So, I did, including the 8 new cords. Once she went through my very large Hobby Lobby (unwrapping EVERY SINGLE ORNAMENT) order, and my tiny other order, she agreed they indeed had made a MISTAKE, she refunded me the price of TWO extension cords. Why, you ask? Because that's what they overcharged me. Although, I made it clear in the beginning I wanted to return all 8 plus the 2 I never even purchased. I mean I had the other stores bag with 8 extension cords right there. If I needed 16, I would've bought them all in the same place. Big hassle. I understand there has to be some trust, but for a store that stands on it's "Christian" principles, neither the store nor the cashier treated...
Read moreI love Hobby Lobby! Shopped here for years, followed them when they moved locations. When shopping in here the last few times I noticed it took standing in the same spot for 15 minutes at a time until you finally get to the front with only 2 cashiers working. 2 were standing there but not allowed to work and the manager was asked by several people and he just said nope sorry we only have 2 cashiers the others cant ring people up. Why have cashiers standing in their spot but not working? Why not offer to ring people up yourself? He was a young guy, he can do it as well. We stood there so long I had to push my cart out of the way and leave and my mom couldn't stand any longer had to leave her stuff behind. This store needs better management and younger cashiers mixed in with the elderly that can help. I hate saying that, but when you have all elderly working and the young ones watching? That's sad and ridiculous. The manager was horrible to my mom as well and when she called he just said everyone was on break, and he shouldn't deprive them. Why send that many people on break at one time? Someone needs to teach him the ropes. Hopefully the other store is still running smoothly like the last time I...
Read moreI'll be very short and to-the-point with the Hobby Lobby of Springfield Missouri. Hobby Lobby is now so standardized that it doesn't matter where you go you're walking into the exact same store. The staff at these stores might as well be robots because that's the amount of personal attention you're going to receive. Most of them are between 16 and 20 and have never held a job before, or 55 to 75 and have completely phoned it in at this point! Just one "for instance" the last time I was in there I made it through four employees before I found somebody who even knew what/or where Conte' art pencils were! On top of all this in the last few years I've seen Hobby Lobby's art supplies jump nearly 20% over every other art supply distributor across seven or eight different states. The only reason I continue to patronize Hobby Lobby at all is the selection and brands that they continue to carry. Oh and just to get this off my chest I cannot possibly be the only one who is really really irritated at the fact that Hobby Lobby has taken half of its store which used to be dedicated to hobbies and arts and turned it into a home decor store!!! Oh and just as a final knife in their side, their hours really...
