I came here because my boyfriend comes here. I wanted to come as a guest and the manager said they weren’t doing guest passes bc of covid. YET online it says it’s available. I ended up signing up on the first day in order to workout. I signed up in December. A couple days later, an agreement was sent to my email. I never signed or initialed anything. I looked over it and it was NOT my signature. I immediately came and spoke to a manager and he fixed it and made me sign a new one. Apparently, the front desk must’ve “signed” it for me. That’s not cool.
Also, The first week I received numerous calls during my work hours from a personal trainer asking if I wanted to lose weight or tone up and use the free session they offer. I finally gave in. I tried it and it was all good a short assessment to see how fit you are. They talk to you about the training program. Of course I got convinced and signed up with a promo they had. The trainer was nice and explained the agreement which I had to sign and initial. I never read an actual agreement until I got it in my email. They also gave me a handbook/journal. It’s record keeping and meal plan writing. I was excited because finally I felt like someone can guide me instead of doing YouTube lol. Anyway My first real session came up and it was only 25 minutes. I should’ve asked what I was getting myself into as it was very tiring but I wasn’t satisfied. I thought they would go over a meal plan and explain what exercises to do when I am not with a trainer the other days. I then thought maybe they’ll go over it next time. I never did my other sessions as holiday season came up and I became super busy with my work-life.
I came back in January to cancel the training membership. This was a Saturday morning and the front desk said “oh you can’t cancel memberships on weekends.” Tf? Then she made me sign a paper stating I am cancelling my TRAINING MEMBERSHIP. 2 days later I received an email saying I cancelled my gym membership -.- which is NOT what I wanted. I came back and told them that was wrong. Okay then They told me I had to talk to personal training to cancel those memberships. Ok no problem. I talked to the same guy who signed me up, he said why don’t we freeze? I said no I need to cancel. Then he said they have to send the info to corporate blah blah blah. He convinced me to just freeze. Times are tough so I thought freezing would be good for me.
I’m here again and cancelled my gym membership forever. This gym lost my boyfriend, brothers, and my membership. The lady who took care of us at the front desk had an attitude even when we asked “when is our last day to use the membership?” She said March but with an ATTITUDE. You can feel it. The gym is actually pretty small. There are many evenings where it is PACKED. There’s too many guys using the weights and most of the time everything is being used.
Guess what. My training membership was never frozen. I got charged today :)))) $200.00! Are you serious?? I’m so mad right now I came and again same guy who signed me up I told him we said freezing MY ACCOUNT. He looked up my account and says 24-48 hours my account will be updated and reimbursed. Ok I want to cancel I said. Here he goes with the excuse of “oh we need to send that to corporate.” I said “ok yes I do that. I am cancelling. I am not coming anymore. I already cancelled my gym membership.” I need my money back ASAP. I will be back here if I don’t get my money back because I am not even coming anymore and reading the reviews here are scaring me.
OH one last thing the initial month my brother and I signed up as a family plan that came out to $150.” Something like that and they only charged $125 first then the $25 initiation fee would be on 12/31/2020. On 1/11/2021 he got charged $25 plus 1/1/2021 our $62 for our membership. This gym is not in order. They be charging you weird or “mess...

The reviews posted after mine and my friends was obviously just some staff member doing damage control. I mean why would random witnesses decide to check Google and defend them? We ALL had guest passes that we had signed up with the night before using my sisters account who had been an active member of their club for months now. Note that he also came at her for using “insurance” to pay for her membership. That is quite literally no one’s business. We were NOT trying to sneak in. This is incredibly unprofessional and sneaky behavior. I never leave reviews but this has been a horrible experience that honestly makes me never want visit an LA fitness again. I hope someone from corporate sees these because it’s not fair that they continue to weaponize “policy” and fake reviews. Avoid this location. ~ I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this LA Fitness location. My sisters, friends, and I came in with valid guest passes, excited to check out the gym. Instead of being welcomed, we were aggressively approached by the general manager (Patrick), who immediately began pressuring us to sign up for memberships. He told us we either had to purchase a $20 pass, leave a 5-star review on the spot, or commit to a full membership — otherwise, we wouldn’t be allowed in.
While we were still waiting on a few friends to arrive, he continued to guilt-trip us, complaining that too many people use guest passes and don’t buy memberships, and that he needs to “feed his wife and kids.” He then said that once our friends showed up, he planned to sit them down and give them an extensive tour and sales pitch — or they wouldn’t be allowed to enter at all. He accused us of abusing the guest pass policy even though we were following the rules.
His tone was condescending and rude, repeatedly using the word “respectfully” before saying something disrespectful or dismissive. Ultimately, we were so uncomfortable with how we were being treated that we decided to leave.
This is not how you treat potential customers. We came in excited and left feeling harassed and unwelcome. I hope LA Fitness takes this seriously and reevaluates how this location handles guest...
Read moreQuick Review: Springfield Mall Sales Associates are scammers. They want their commission so they will lie to you. They won’t show you all of LA fitnesses offers and force you to take the most expensive one. If you meet a guy called Richie (big buff white dude with tattoos who’s the GM of the gym just leave. Matter of fact don’t ever go there go to the one in Hilltop. Much better customer service and trustable sales associates).
My Story: I got scammed by a sales associate named Richie. He is the gm of the Springfield mall LAF. I recently graduated from college and I’m looking for a gym membership. Richie says he’ll hook me up by waiving the $175 fees and I would pay $34.99 a month. I said $34.99 is too much. I told him I saw $24.99 a month on the LAF website. Richie says those options are no longer available we only have $34.99. Then, I proceed to ask I also saw that you guys have multi-location or one gym deals. Richie said all memberships are multi-gym memberships there is no such thing as single gym deals. I tried to make sense of Richies proposal but he would cut me off every time and wouldn’t listen to anything I said. Stupid me accepted the offer and Richie told me that i have 7 days to cancel to get my full refund but I can only come in to cancel from 9-5pm because that’s when the sales associates work. Well I have work from 9-5pm.
8/13/19. I went to work out in the morning at the Hilltop LAF. I asked the front desk lady if sales associates work past 5pm. She said yes.
So I come in after work to the Hilltop LAF after work to see if I could get a cheaper deal and the sales associate, Cain, actually explained all their options to me and I got a much cheaper deal. He also listened to my situation with Richie and was a great help. My deal was $175 initiation and $20 a month. (I got the $24.99 I requested and an additional $5 off because of the single gym membership deal for a total of $20 a month). In all I saved $180 dollars by talking to a sales associate at the Hilltop LAF.
Still in the process: Because of Richies unethical practices, I may have lost $70 that I can’t get back. But I’m still trying to get that money back as we speak and the Hilltop LAF associates are helping me because I canceled within the 7 day...
