I was in Virginia for a military ceremony where awards were presented to the majority of the group. We had decided to grab a meal, since all of us had been at the ceremony during lunchtime. We all decided to go to the Yard House, as everyone was famished. We decided on The Yard House, where we were greeted and then seated by Kaitlynn Emery. That is when the service "really started". We had to ask for absolutely nothing, except for our orders. Kaitlyn started putting tables together to accommodate the size of our group, and took drink orders in what seemed like one breath. We ordered our food as soon as she delivered the drinks. The food was delivered to us, and presented as if we pulled it off the pages of the menu, but better. She continued to check on us continually during the duration of our meals. The food was great, and prepared perfectly. It was also delivered to the table in record time. Kaitlyn summoned the Manager, Mallory to our table. Moments later, when she arrived, Mallory started to talk to us, and tell us that it was their honor to have us dine in their establishment. That made several of the Old Veteran's get misty eyed, and a while later, Kaitlyn brought all desert as a complimentary gift for our occasion. It was just simply the very best service I have ever had. I have eaten all over the world, but this was by far, the very best of service I have ever received. The atmosphere was perfect, the food was perfect, but the service was AMAZING! The Yard House bent over backwards for all of us. We were absolutely amazed. We had Great Food, Great Service, And a Great Time while at the Yard House, all because of Kaitlyn Emery, and her Manager Mallory. I wish I could eat there on a regular basis, but I live in Vegas. However, there is a Yard House within two miles of my home, and you can bet I will be there every week. Probably more than once. If I could have hired individuals of this caliber in my business, I would have hired a hundred of Kaitlynn's and Mallory's. I thank the Yard House for such AWESOME EVERYTHING while we were visiting. I will definitely be sure to go back, when I am within a hundred miles of D.C. Thank you Kaitlynn and Mallory, for such a fantastic dining experience. Thank you Corporate for hiring these two individuals. They have to make a difference in your profit margin. I would give a Gazillion Stars, if possible. I felt bad when I left. I thought that we were picking up the tab for the entire group. When I was talking to my wife as she was paying on a credit card to tip 40%. I didn't think she heard me, due to her hearing loss. I mentioned it several times. As it turned out, my wife was only paying two of the tabs. I feel that I shorted Kaitlynn Emery on her well deserved tip. Kaitlyn, and Mallory... I am not a cheapskate. I will figure out a way to make it up you. I thank you personally for a job really, really well done! It was Superb! My photos did not turn out well, and we all ate different items...
Read moreThe modern steakhouse is more than just a place to get a piece of meat; it's a dining experience that has evolved from humble beginnings into a symbol of classic American luxury. While the concept of serving individual portions of grilled meat dates back to 17th-century London chophouses, the American steakhouse as we know it today truly began to take shape in the mid-19th century. These establishments, like New York's Old Homestead Steakhouse (1868) and Peter Luger Steakhouse (1887), combined the permanent location of a restaurant with the high-quality cuts and atmosphere once reserved for private "beefsteak banquets," creating a new kind of destination dining. Today, a great steakhouse is defined by a few key elements that elevate it beyond a simple restaurant. First and foremost is the quality of the meat. The best steakhouses source premium beef, often from specific farms, and may even specialize in high-grade cuts like USDA Prime or Wagyu. The aging process, particularly dry aging, is crucial for enhancing flavor and tenderness by allowing natural enzymes to break down muscle fibers over time. The Perfect Cut and Cooking The menu is a carnivore's dream, featuring a variety of cuts that cater to different tastes and textures. The filet mignon, known for its buttery tenderness and mild flavor, is a popular choice for those who prefer a lean steak. For a rich, marbled steak with a robust flavor, the ribeye is the go-to. Other classic cuts include the New York strip, which is well-marbled but not as fatty as a ribeye, and the porterhouse or T-bone, which offer both a strip and a tenderloin section separated by a T-shaped bone. The perfect steak is a result of expert preparation and cooking. Chefs use high-heat techniques, like broiling or grilling, to achieve a caramelized crust, or "sear," while ensuring the inside is cooked to the diner's desired doneness. A good steakhouse understands the importance of precise temperature control to consistently deliver a rare, medium-rare, or medium steak. Beyond the Steak While the steak is the star, the supporting cast of a steakhouse is equally important. Classic side dishes like creamed spinach, sautéed mushrooms, and various forms of potatoes—from mashed and baked to au gratin—are staple accompaniments. A crisp, refreshing wedge salad with blue cheese dressing is a common starter that helps balance the richness of the meal. The ambiance also plays a significant role in the experience. Steakhouses often have a sophisticated atmosphere with dark wood furnishings, plush seating, and dim lighting that creates a sense of intimacy and luxury. The service is typically top-notch, with knowledgeable staff ready to guide diners through the menu and recommend the perfect wine pairing to complement their meal. In essence, the modern steakhouse is a timeless institution that combines history, culinary mastery, and elegant service to deliver an unforgettable...
Read more20240418 Best burgers ever!! The whiskey & Aged cheese burger was amazing! 20240112 It has been 2 years since I have been here. The menu has some new dishes. I got the Spicy Beef Garlic Noodles. Pretty good, but not $24 good. 2022 The Yard House is one of the few restaurants that I have eaten at with so many menu items that I love. The toughest decision is always which of the many menu items do I want this time. If you enjoy beer, they have 132 different types of beer. Unfortunately, I am not a beer drink, and I come here for their delicious food. I have tried the Ahi Sashimi appetitizer, Lobster Crab and Artichoke Dip, Lobster Garlic Noodles, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Baja Fish Taco, and Pepper Jack Burger, and I love them all. When I think of The Yard House, one food item that always comes to mind is their Pepper Jack Burger. I rarely eat beef, but this burger is the best of all the ones I have eaten in my lifetime. The beef patty was so tender and juicy. I ate the whole thing and wished there was more. Recently, I had the Lobster Garlic Noodles. It has a well balanced of noodles and lobster and shrimp, and the crabmeat coated the garlic noodles perfectly. When I was nearly done, I had plenty of shrimp left to enjoy. Although it is a small dish for the price $23.45, but I was surprised to feel comfortable after I ate the entire plate. The service is always excellent. The waiters and waitresses are exceptional. They provide friendly service and attentive. Of all the restaurants in the Springfield area, this Yard House is definitely my Number One choice. I highly recommend it - the environment, food, service, and according to my friends, beer, are all excellent. Oh and don't forget the desserts! I got the Trio twice already, and it is excellent! It's a meal...
