I recently visited Shawarma Taco and tried several items from their menu, including the Chicken Shawarma Rice Platter, Chicken Shawarma Salad Platter, and the Original Chicken Shawarma in Pita.
Here's my detailed review of each dish, and let me tell you—the unlimited toppings, spicy hummus, and hot peppers - took the experience to a whole new level!
Chicken Shawarma Rice Platter The Chicken Shawarma Rice Platter was an absolute delight! The marinated chicken was juicy and packed with bold flavors. The rice was fluffy and aromatic, pairing perfectly with the chicken. But what truly made this dish stand out were the unlimited toppings, especially the spicy hummus and hot peppers, which added a fiery, tangy kick that took the platter from great to out of this world.
Chicken Shawarma Salad Platter The Chicken Shawarma Salad Platter was fresh, healthy, and packed with flavor. The crisp veggies and juicy chicken worked beautifully together, and the unlimited toppings bar allowed me to customize it to perfection. I added spicy hummus and hot peppers, which gave the salad a bold, fiery twist that I absolutely loved.
Original Chicken Shawarma in Pita The Original Chicken Shawarma in Pita was hands down my favorite! The soft, warm pita was filled to the brim with perfectly seasoned chicken and fresh veggies. But the real game-changer? The shwarma sauce and tahini! They added a burst of flavor that made every bite unforgettable. The unlimited toppings bar allowed my son to load his pita making it a completely customizable and satisfying meal.
The service was quick, the staff was friendly, and the portions were generous. Whether you’re in the mood for a hearty rice platter, a fresh salad, or a delicious shawarma pita, this spot is...
Read moreI tried this place today. I had a falafel salad. I got two tiny bits of lettuce to start. The falafel are not fresh made, just fried bagged frozen product. The condiment bar was dried out. The pickled red onion had zero flavor. The hummus (all) was totally under-seasoned. The pickles and pickled turnips were so salty they were inedible. Since they made up a good majority of my salad, that left me with not much of anything for $15. and I like salty foods. But they were simply not edible and had to be tossed. The staff commented that they don't make them, they come from an outside vendor. Nobody tasted them to see if they should be pulled. They really were not something that should be served to anyone.
The condiments on the table were filthy and looked totally unsanitary. We had gotten some fries but we didn't want to touch the old gross ketchup bottle on the table that has been obviously refilled again and again but never wiped off. Every condiment container on the table was filthy. I will not be visiting here again. Maybe the chicken and stuff is better, but I don't feel good about eating somewhere where details like condiments on tables being sanitary are overlooked, and where pickled items are all that is available, very little fresh. They certainly shouldn't be offering salads with that meager offering.

Read moreWe had passed by this shawarma place in the mall several times, and it always caught our attention because the meat was roasting on a vertical rotisserie - just like we’re used to seeing back home, where shawarma is really delicious. So yesterday we finally decided to stop by and give it a try.
The first thing that surprised me was that the meat was actually cooked on a flat grill instead of being sliced directly from the rotisserie. It made me wonder if the rotating meat was just for display, which was a bit disappointing.
While we were ordering, the guy taking my order picked up his phone twice during the process. It wasn’t a huge deal, but it did feel unprofessional.
Another downside was that many items from the menu were not available. For example, my husband wanted to order beef shawarma, but there was no beef at all. They also didn’t have ayran or Coca-Cola. We ended up choosing from a very limited selection, which wasn’t ideal.
As for the food itself, the quality of the ingredients seemed low. We ordered fries for our child, but he refused to eat them - we tried them ourselves and didn’t like them either. Everything looked nice, but the taste didn’t match the appearance. It wasn’t terrible, but definitely not what we expected.
Overall, it was an okay experience, but we wouldn’t...
