Me and some of my family went to this Macyâs today to buy a couple perfumes/fragrances. The lady that was helping us find what we needed, and suggest perfumes was super nice, patient, and understanding. I wish I wouldâve gotten her name. Though, when we went to check out .. this one blonde guy, I unfortunately didnât catch his name either. He said that if we used a Macys card we could get discounted 10$, but it wouldnât be the same if we used cash. That was a tiny bit confusing but that was alright. Then, my dad was asking some questions because he was genuinely just confused, and this guy.. he really wasnât any help, he was just kind of yapping around, and really wasnât getting to the point, which was a bit irritating. After we decided to walk away, just to think. I could have sworn I heard him call us stupid .. like what? What type of customer service is that ? But we decided to give it another chance anyway, we walked back.. this time to a different checkout person. This lady, also very unprofessional. She was swiping the card very rapidly and roughly, which couldâve been part of the reason why the Macys card didnât work. But anyway, after my dad had agreed to use the Macys card and give it a try, she was swiping so fast and ended up saying it doesnât work .. like what? How are you gonna say that after you suggested us to use a Macys card .. and so we gave it another try and used a different Macys card we owned.. and it worked but then they proceeded to say that canât discount on this card ? It was the same exact type of card.. like huh? And the customer service was horrible, one guy completely walked away right after not being able to handle some situation. And the other lady was insanely rude .. and how are they gonna suggest us to use a Macys card for a discount and say that one of them doesnât work .. and then say that they canât discount on the other one ? Though it wasnât even that much of a discount, only 10$. It still was very irritating, and so we ended up leaving. This whole situation wasted nearly an hour, because most of the people were so unprofessional. Kudos to the lady that was...

Update: visited in September, the store and stocked merchandise in better shape. Changing star count a bit.
Macyâs in Springfield is horrible, I mean absolutely trashy unorganized merchandise just thrown together like a trash bin, filthy dressing room if you can find one open. This store is in the worse shape than I have ever seen, ever. Thrift stores are cleaner and in better working order. OMG!, Macyâs WAS a lower high end store, now the prices are high, quantity and shopping environment is at an all time low, down right scary.
In the corner was a 1980âs speaker box blasting music so loud you could talk to the cashier. I asked if the store was closing⊠avoid this store unless you want a step down from the Salvation Army Thrift store in Annandale, and that thrift store is cleaner and well organized at least. Terrible, terrible, terrible! đ± I was truly shocked.
Update: visited in September, the store was in much better shape and kinda stocked.
Update 2023 - Macys is attempting to create a higher end shopping experience with a different floor plan, a couple of open check outs and more brands.
If you go to the Springfield Macys in the summer, wear light clothing, itâs hot in the store. Iâve been a Macys when it first opened when the shopping area was called Springfield Mall, when the only stores open were the anchor stores Macys and JCPenny. Itâs been hot in the store every summer forever đ. The dressing rooms open are scarce kinda nasty, doors without locks, and long...
Read moreYesterday September 9,2025 I went in to exchange shoes that were 4 days old that I had bought and were the wrong size for the person I bought them for I was told by the manager Jeneba that I could get some cash back but not all and after proceeding she became arrogant and rude by first saying who did I come with that day and why I was lying when I didnât let her know I came with my mother which I thought personal information didnât matter. then she told an employee to get the same pair from the back to compare the shoes if they were worn or not which werenât because I was exchanging for a different size. I told her they werenât worn and told me â are you telling me how to do my job?â And was set back and told her to stop speaking to me like that and she proceeded by calling me âhoneyâ and not in a nice way I told her to stop calling me that and she slammed the shoes on the counter and called someone else to help me which I said yes please I want someone else and when the other employee came to help me she then said to them â help them because I canât deal with herâ I was soo set back and never been treated like that I had a macys card and number but cancelled it that day immediately the new person who helped me was patient and returned my money and let me know the size I needed was not available but she helped me with the correct customer service Jeneba on the other hand was rude, inexperienced, insulting and embarrassed me in front of other employees and customers she must be retrained or not be manager because that was such horrible experience I hope she can be talked to,to not ever treat a customer like that or given time off because she might need it...
