First I came in wanting 6 veneers done and seeing the reviews I thought I was in good hands. 😒 All 6 fell off, and when they were replaced, they fell off 2 more times each, even while I was just brushing my teeth and another fell off when I was eating a salad! Another had a leak from a poor glue job and had to be removed which then took an entire month to get made and replaced when I was told it would be 9 days tops as it was "expedited". All lies. Veneers are not covered by insurance because they're cosmetic, which I understood so I paid $9000 to have all 6 fall off 3-4 times! What a joke. Then I regretfully trusted them to remove my 4 wisdom teeth that I had for about 5 years now and getting the appointment was easy, but everything after was a nightmare. I told the owner of the practice (Dr. Kumar) would do it cause he was fast (all could be done in 30 minutes) and good at it, but when I show up they hand me off to some new dentist (Dr ankita? Not sure on spelling) who then struggles for 1.5 hours to remove my teeth and I'm only on lidocaine at this point (not put under or on laughing gas) so I can feel everything and begged her to stop 3-4 times as she was physically jumping with pliers in my mouth as my tooth wouldn't t budge. When they got to the 4th and final tooth I said I was done. I was in so much pain and in shock from having to watch her and her assistant physically struggle and rip my lips apart bloody so I couldn't handle it. Then came the care sheet which said I would be given pain meds, but I wasn't. I was sent home and told to take ibuprofen and acetaminophen. Little did I know the most excruciating and longest 3 weeks were ahead of me. Not only was I in pain from all the physical force used to remove said teeth, my lips were cracked and ripped open on the corners and I looked like the joker and couldn't drink water for 2 days. After 2 days I realized Ibuprofen and acetaminophen wasn't enough because I needed 4 pills of each every 2 hours (not 4 hours as the bottle or dentist stated) and since then I have gone through 4.5 entire bottles of ibuprofen and 1 bottle of acetaminophen and still counting. I called them after that 2nd day and was crying on the phone and could barely speak and they said they wouldn't prescribe me anything stronger cause ppl ask for strong meds and abuse them and I was so upset they wouldn't help me cause of how ppl abuse drugs even tho I had a very good reason, but was told to wait 1 more day regardless. The next day I called angry and said I was being neglected. I hadn't eaten in 3 days, drinking water was so painful I was dehydrated and they finally prescribed me 6 Vicodin which barely did anything because of the amount of pain I was in. By week 2 I was already 1.5 large bottles of ibuprofen down and woke up at 2 am in pain as the meds have worn off and my heart rate was going insane. Not only was it fast but incredibly irregular and skipping. I rushed to the ER and was told I was in so much physical pain it made my heart rate do that. I called my dentist at almond dental the next day and they did and said nothing useful. I felt my teeth weren't getting any better because the pain was still at a level 8+ so I called to get checked and they told me it was all normal. If it's normal then why tell me it will take 2 weeks until all the pain is gone? As I write this it is week 6 and I am still taking ibuprofen at 2AM and 5AM just to sleep. I went to my Doctor to get lab work done and make sure my kidneys and liver weren't shot after so many pills and even she was upset by my experience and story. I was told by many that this place sounds like they don't know what they're doing, they don't sound accommodating, or like they care about their patients after they get their money. I have no idea how this place gets the rating it does but all my experiences were negative and now I wouldn't send my worst enemy here. While in the beginning they were nice about the veneers, that has really changed and they don't return my calls anymore. Today a veneer fell off for the4th time...
Read moreI have to agree that the staff was nice and friendly, but I am not here to talk about how friendly everyone is, after all I came there for the services. I had a root canal and 2 wisdom teeth extraction done there just a few weeks ago. And my first impression of Dr. Kumar(?) was that the extraction would be the least painful and fast. During the procedure, the root canal was fine, then comes the wisdom teeth extraction, mind you, this part was the last of my appointment, the whole time he was running back and forth in between patients, so I had to wait probably an hour longer than I needed to for my procedures. I understand that it is a small office and he seems like to be the only one there that does surgical procedures, but then again, why making appointments if you're letting them wait so long so that you can run back and forth between them and other patients? If you are taking more patients a day than you can handle, that is not efficient. And when it came to the extraction part, which he said would be super fast, takes 5 mins max. Now I have got my wisdom teeth taken out before on the right side, and my last doctor did take longer to extract but he was very careful and he sew the wound back so that it is not open and less painful. At Almond, they told me that usually people don't do that, and he does it the "traditional" way, which is just extracting and let it open so that it's "easier" to heal on its own, this part seems kind of weird to me, but I thought maybe that's true, so I let it slide. The upper wisdom tooth was very fast, but I know the lower one he would have a harder time, he use the tool, pulled it hard, now I am all numbed from the medication but I felt this one, he pulled and pulled violently because there are many patients (most of them are new) waiting in the room and he had to run, so it did not come out as quick, and at this point I was screamin in my mouth, tap his shoulder indicating that I am hurt, but he just said sorry, almost done, and kept on pulling, my eyes were watery and he had to hold me down hard to pull it harder. So after all the force and pulling, he pulled it so hard that the tooth flew to the gum of my jaw, the tooth almost fell down to my throat, and then he said all done and walked off to see other patients, one of his staff who was helping knew that that was not really professionally so he looked at me with a very "I'm so sorry" face. Later on I found out I felt hurt even more because of the wound from the tooth flying and cutting my gums. Then the second time I came for the crown, this has been 2.5 weeks, and I am still in pain, I wasn't sure if it was the root canal or the wisdom tooth but as I press my finger down my teeth, I can feel the sore comes from my lower wisdom tooth part where he pulled violently. So this time my appointment was at 9:30, I came and waited till 10, and he came to put on the new crown, I told him I wanna check if there was infection on my wisdom teeth because I still wake up at the middle of the night, in pain, and had to take pain meds to go back go sleep, I don't think this is normal for almost 3 weeks post op. So he said he will check, putting the new crown on took less than 5 mins. He went to see new patients on the other room, I know this because they came for a free consultation on implants and all, I waited another half hour and their conversation doesn't seem like it's going to end soon, seemed like they were trying to sell their procedures with expensive implants. So I told myself, this whole thing was done in less than 5 mins, and I had to wait an hour or motr even with appointment, why am I still here. So I told the staff I would be leaving, they can see my unhappy face and felt bad, one staff told the other that I was waiting for a long time, they knew I did. So they asked if I wanna wait a second so he would come, at this point, he's still talkin to the other patients, I knew I would have to wait so I said no and just left. I feel bad for leaving this review, because I know the staff will also be affected. But I...
Read moreI am submitting a formal review for Almond Dental Clinic at 3803 Silver Lake Rd. St Anthony, Mn 55421. I have had some very serious mistreatments at this clinic. I will follow up later to give a serious detailed report, by adding to this report. I am an honest paying customer and paid my bill right away. There has been serious mishandling of me as a dental patient and unethical. I would not recommend this clinic for anyone. I will follow up with a full report that I feel is crucial to worn others. Very sincerely. Larene. Todays date is 2-6-25. Your response to me is very deceptive and dishonest. It was the management that dragged out these past 8 months with appts not having the crown properly ready to install. I feel very discriminated against by your lies and negligence. After reading the very many reviews listed under your clinic that give you a # 1 rating from so many dental patients, I had already decided to change my 5* rating to # 1 only. You have so many people that give you a # 1 rating. Today when Vicki called me after I have been very sick with pneumonia for 41 days now, and finally able to talk I thought you would be getting me a scheduled with Dr Ankita to put a filling in the last crown that is the total of 7 done by Dr Ankita this year of 2024. There was a similar problem with one of the crowns, when she did the 6 together, and she took care of the problem by putting in a filling , and that corrected the problem, and I had no more sensitivity to hot and cold, that was too severe to bear. she corrected it. It is the same kind of issue that needs fixing. I have been quite patient and understanding and have been very polite and patient, and have looked forward to getting in to have Dr Ankita put a filling in to remedy this matter, where it is so sensitive to hot and cold in that one area, that also makes it hurt. I have had to endure this suffering all this time because I had gotten very sick with a serious case of pneumonia. I can make an appointment now. I said I would have to file a grievance with Delta Dental, after you said you would not follow up with me to get this minor repair done. So, you were so adamant to tell me to go to another clinic, and it doesn't make any sense to me. In my entire life Dentists and Medical Doctors have always complimented me how nice I am to work with. I did file a very honest grievance today with my dental insurance Delta Dental. They said I was doing the right thing. I am asking for resolution by simply doing the repair with a filling to the crown with the problem, and if you refuse, then to refund money to me for the suffering you now cause me. You will be notified by the the Authorities that will be handling the grievance, which could have all been avoided, but you have refused to finish the work on that last crown, that is unethical and very abusive to me as your dental patient for the past 2 years now. I ask you to work with me to finish the work that has been continuing right now. I will end this report. All of my other statements in support of this resolution will be also in the grievance. It is quite easy to resolve, if we work together to simply finish this needed filling. Sincerely your dental patient for the last 2 years now. Larene. I explain to you that I am not threatening you when I say l will file a grievance, when that is the only way to try to get a resolution with communication, that is kind and respectful and reasonable so please understand that. Did you know that when Dr Ankita finally got the crown color right, at the appt to try it on , she pushed it up very hard and it cracked. She said she would have it redone. She said she saw a chip break off. That is when she said she would have it redone. At the next appt a few weeks later when she was to install it she told me she did not have it redone and very quickly installed it with further discussion . This appears to be part of why there is such a sensitivity to the hot and cold. Larene. You have taken just under TWELVE THOUSAND DOLLARS for the...
