Nail Bar Spa — Local services in St. Charles

Came in with my friend who just so happens to be Vietnamese and speaks the language well. As we were getting pedicures my nail tech NANCY said I lied about the pedicure I chose and proceeded to say she doesn’t like working with black people because we are cheap. This was all said in Vietnamese so my friend texted me about it as it was happening. For one I always say and point to the pedicure I pick just so there is no confusion. Two, if there was a problem I would have preferred her to talk to me about it not bash my race. Sorry I did not want an $80 pedicure. If that makes me cheap then so be it. After our appointments my friend confronted the manager about what happened. Instead of apologizing about it the manager told my friend she is a child and doesn’t know Vietnamese... as they were literally talking to each other. The shop seems to be poorly ran. Manager doesn’t care about racist comments and even though we called the day before to schedule appointments when we walked in they were all confused. I hope everyone out there finds a shop who cares about everyone regardless of race. Really sucks that a fun hang out with my friend turned into this type of situation.

Based off reply below, no accountability was taken from this business. Seems like we were the blame for the incident and that is not the case. A true apology comes from owning up to what happened on your end. Without holding yourself accountable and being honest with yourself NO change can happen. Jasmine and Hollie are the dream team! The Rose Gold Spa manicure & pedicure with the paraffin hot wax heel treatment was amazing! Just what my feet needed to heal my heels! Calluses softened and smoothed out as no-chip nail polish removed gently by dremel and soak off. Complimentary beverages are available.

I enjoyed the sleek black massage chairs that have dual side tables two cup holders so ample space if you are bringing a book, coffee or in a rush and need hands and toes done concurrently. The massages were lovely so very relaxing and worth the upgrade.

The ambiance is relaxing, white and black look is spotless and clean, spa liners for pedi and sanitized new tools. All leaves a positive impression, I would bring friends and family for a spa day here. Price depends on what service you are interested in having done, there are so many lovely spa options, a book is brought with different services designed around aromatherapy, specific treatments and a la cart add ons, special designs available.

I chose an artistic sparkling pearl rose ombré tipped design for my nails and toes to match. Jasmine and Hollie did an excellent job blending the two micro metallic colors to achieve the softer, sparkly sandy textured, Reverse French Rosé look I desired. Lovely for a clean & classy longer nail length look. I wanted a softer almond oval shape. Versatile look for Summertime; pink tips for garden party, date night, social events & pearl base for pool or beach, boating or sailing.

I made an appointment for this morning to treat my friend for a girls day out. I picked this place because I saw the reviews and it was nothing but good things! As soon as I get there, they had no idea why I was there after confirming with me I did have an appointment the night before. Right off the bat I felt uncomfortable. I sat next to my friend who is black and once they confirmed what pedicures we got. The nail tech Nancy swore my friend did not pick the regular pedicure and we didn’t know better. Immediately said hates doing work on black people because they’re cheap. Sorry not everyone wants a $80 pedicure. Throughout the whole service she has made rude remarks about us and made me so uncomfortable. I am Vietnamese and fluent in the language and understood everything she said. I held my tongue and waited till after we both paid and TIPPED till we talked to the manger about our experience with her salon. As soon as I talked about the racial remarks, she immediately told me im a child I didn’t understand her right. when the manger was no where around the entire service?
