We (my spouse and I) recently spent over $3000.00 here for carpet and linoleum and for them to install. Everything was great until the purchase was made. They explained to us that due to liability that there certain appliances and items they will not move. Pianos, gas stoves, and any appliance with a water hookup (our refrigerator and dish washer). Granted that this was explained prior to the purchase which allowed us to identify a cost to move appliance in our bill all of which were appliances that they wouldn't move. Had to request that charge be removed. Demolition and disposal of the old floor was several hundred dollars. Elected to have that removed as well and we would just demo the floor ourselves. We called and scheduled the flooring to be installed. The representative we spoke with on the phone told us that it would be best to have it all done in one day. It was explained that the linoleum floor would be done first. The delivery and installation was scheduled for 10/30/18. My husband took off from work on 10/29 and 10/30 so he could demolish and dispose of the old floor and move the appliance that were not permitted to be moved even though ot was attempted to be included in our bill. By the afternoon of 10/29 our kitchen is completely ripped up to the base flooring. The dishwasher disconnected, the refrigerator disconnected and moved into the dining room, and the stove disconnected and moved into the dining room. The breakfast nook furnature was also moved into the dining room. Everything was consolidated into the dining room as we understood that the linoleum was being installed first. On 10/30/18 the contractor calls to tell us they will arrive between 1pm and 5 pm. They arrive at 4:30 well within their time frame and were very pleasant. However they arrive and ask why everthing is in the dining room. We explain that the linoleum was to be done first. They are shocked as they are here to do carpet only and need to start in the dining room. They also know nothing about any linoleum install nor brought any materials for the linoleum to be installed. So we wasted a day moving everything out of the kitchen to have to rush and move everything back into the kitchen plus the contents of the dining room, living room, and office, into the kitchen so they could carpet those as well. We call the separate number to ask about the linoleum installation while the contractors got to work on the carpet. The person I spoke with had nothing scheduled or even on the tracker for a linoleum installation. The earliest they can get something in is 11/01/18. The carpet gets installed and the contractors depart and my husband and I now have to clear the kitchen again. So now we have been forced to eat out (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) since 10/29 which three meals a day for a full family is quite expensive. Now 11/01/18 thr contractor for the linoleum arrives and asks me where are my materials? Given we paid $75.00 in the contract for delivery, we would assume the contractors would bring the stuff they needed with. So now no one is sure what needs to be done. The contractor does not know where the supplies are and are saying that the other guys were supposed to have brought them. After about an hour of various phone calls, they figured out that the linoleum was apparently still at St. Clair Home Depot waiting to be picked up. Although it is the closest Home depot to my house, it is still an hour away. So now they will have to delay the installation for an additional two hours. While they have to recover the supplies. The level of disorganization is uncanny which resulted in costing us alot of extra money, work, wasted time and a heavily used room being under construction for several days when it should have only been...
Read moreMy close friend (and also coworker), were both followed around the store, as if we were going to be stealing something the entire time. Followed and stared at down every isle... I honestly felt targeted, and uncomfortable strictly due to our physical appearance. I have a large quantity of tattoos, (all professionally done, and none of which are inappropriate, nor on my face or neck, and my co worker who wore his prescription sun glasses, strictly due to the fact we do contracting work. We were there to purchase a few new hand tools, all of which were decently expensive, but were followed and treated like criminals before we could even read the specifications on the box. Needless to say, we didnt even finish looking, and walked out of the store. I feel disappointed, and most importantly disrespected at the fact that I cannot even comfortably look around the store without being silently accused of something I would never have the thought of doing. There are younger men and women, that were raised right, work hard, and are knowledgeable, and capable of performing plenty of various job descriptions. Regardless of the way we choose to express ourselves personally. Stop stereotyping people due to their physical appearance and/or age. Being judgemental, is not only rude, disrespectful, and completely ignorant, but it's not the way we raise our children anymore, and not the way we treat our fellow men and women, who are no better, and especially no less than...
Read moreOrdered a dishwasher from this store. We originally wanted a stainless but had to go with a slate dishwasher because it was the only one in stock. We also payed for installation. Delivery date was on the 8th. They called to tell us the delivery would be delayed 3 days because the dishwasher was not in stock. The late delivery also had the wrong address on it. Fast forward to the day of the late delivery and installation. The most ignorant and rude delivery guys show up. They drop it in the middle of my mother in laws kitchen ( which we had to prep by removing a cabinet, drilling access holes to the power and water supply lines) They say their orders only say deliver not to install. So after fighting with them over the address change and the late delivery of the dishwasher because it was out of stock (when the only reason we got the one that we didn’t want because it was in stock) and fighting with them over them installing the dishwasher( which we showed them the receipt stating we paid for the unit, the install, the parts for installation and the delivery) they proceeded to very rudely tell my mother in-law to pound sand and then they left. We have called the store talked to management (who said they would get to the bottom of it and call us back which I’m not holding my breath for) and now we are trying to go through corporate to what we already paid for done. I would not recommend anyone use this store or company for anything! You...
