It is 8:13 pm as I type. We were seated at Uma Hibachi in St Clair a little after 7 and we are already home! It is a McCord Family Tradition for about at least 7 years now to go out as a family on New Year's Eve. Have been to Uma at least 4 times before. Have been to hibachis in Lehigh Valley where atmosphere was elegant and always good experience with chef and waitresses. Also have been to Hazleton which was always good. NYC, Orlando and shore places. We went to McUma tonight. It was basically a drive thru service. We were seated a little after 7 and were already leaving the place at 8:10. I never have been to a hibachi where I was rushed through so quickly. The waitress pointed a nasty finger at my son who didn't hand back his menu quickly enough. She hurriedly poured our Samporo into our glasses over a drain at chef's station so sloppily where the drain collected a lot of the beer she spilled. Never were given chopsticks at a Japanese restaurant until we asked for them. Never came back to see if we wanted another drink until we were about done eating. Soup and salad served at same time. Our appetizer came after chef was done. Chef performed horribly. One shot at consuming sake. Hibachi is equally about the experience as it is about the food....
Read moreThis was the second time I had ordered takeout from them. Their sushi rolls are half the size of what is customary. I can accept that on based on today's economy. However, there are items that I had ordered did not appear on my bill nor did I receive. I received the phone call informing me that the soup I had ordered play never mentioned the other items. I was told after trying to understand what the person was saying multiple times due to their poor English that they were going to refund me in cash for the soup. They did not give me any type of refund. I called to let them know and a woman and poor English told me after several inquiries that they'll take care of it next time. There's not going to be a next time. Why would I order again from someone who just stolen from me? I just want other customers to hear how they possibly may be treated in the future. I had to call my bank to make sure that I was being charged the proper amount and not the original order fee which was showing up on my bank account. I was being charged$33 more then what I had received. Doordash is also responsible in this matter. As many have seen that doordash has been quite noticeable for overcharging their customers basically stealing from them. Not happy will never...
Read moreWent in at 2:30 for lunch which is about 15$ for the lunch special. We got 3. We're handed a bill for almost 100$. We asked why? He said I charged you for dinner. I said no, we ordered lunch special, your menu says 11-3:30 for lunch. He said oh well you pay dinner. It's 96$ I said absolutely not. We ordered lunch we will pay for lunch where is the manager? He said I am the manager now. The waitress came over and also said that is not how it should've been rung and he yelled at her. Saying yes you have to say you're there for lunch or you get charged dinner. She was upset. I said we come here all the time that is not how it is and he rolled his eyes and said "oh everyon come here all the time" ...I was absolutely disgusted. Another couple got up and left after ordering. This manager was horrible. He changed my bill to the lunch special like we ordered then told us to thank him for buying us lunch... I will never go back in this place with him working. The owners on the other hand are very professional and sweet. This guy is going to ruin the place. He also completely butchered our order. Didn't bring us our rice, and was hanging over our table waiting for...
