Was beyond thrilled with my King Size French Bed, end tables and the service I received from this company. I had spotted this bed many years ago in the UK and couldn’t justify the shipping or the off size as a Canadian. I happened upon this company and was still nervous to make a purchase like this online. I called and had my first conversation of many with Gloria. She was very helpful and accommodating. When she first sent pictures of my furniture from the manufacturer before it was shipped I was in a panic. The piece was what I wanted but the finish and upholstery material didn’t appear to be what I expected and wanted. We were communicating by text and I was honest with her about my concerns. She explained that because of the finish it could appear quite different depending on the light and angle. She assured me I would be happy and if not she would order me another one and send finish samples if I was uncomfortable. She sent more pictures when it arrived from her showroom and I made arrangements to pick it up. The bed is stunning and if anything exceeded my expectations. My husband inspected it thoroughly and said the workmanship and quality is fantastic. I really was quite a difficult customer through the process and Gloria always had time for me. The packing, care and service from her employees was also very professional and courteous. It was a real pleasure to meet Gloria at the end of this process and I can’t thank her enough. Other reviews are correct - you will wait longer than expected. But the service is excellent, you can’t beat the prices AND quality is unmatched. Additionally, here’s a gentle reminder that, we may be in an age of instant gratification, but when you order things from an artisan, especially things that are being made custom and being shipped from overseas, you’re going to wait. Period. People are waiting months for furniture that’s already made from places like pottery barn and even Ashley furniture! And these pieces don’t even come close to the quality you’ll get from French Country Furniture. I don’t care what other reviews say, this bed was absolutely, 1000% worth the wait. And yes, the communication could have been better at times, but it was impeccable at other times. Gloria called me on my cell several times to provide a real time update. And she was on the phone with me calling me to check in at each of the final stages, down to the minute the bed arrived and was assembled. If you’re not going to appreciate a finely made piece of furniture, and don’t want to order the real thing from abroad, don’t order here. Get a dupe from target. Horrible experience. I paid over $5500 for a dining table that has so many blemishes. The table arrived with a large brown spot on the top of the white table that shows through the glass. The paint was not properly cured when shipped and the packaging left imprints in all over the white paint. The table sags over an inch in the middle and terrified it will split in half one day. I notified Gloria, the owner, the day I received the table and sent photos with texts. She was initially very cooperative and promised to replace the table. She has kept me on the line for over a year now and never follows through. On the last message she accused me of painting the table. She finally stopped responding at all. I'm working with Amex to dispute over $5k and will hire an attorney. I'm not rolling over and letting this small business owner give others a bad name. Do not purchase from this company.
