I do NOT recommend anyone go to Montgomery Jewelry. My fiance got his gold engagement ring sized up by a size and a quarter. They were quick with the turnaround but when we got the ring back, they had polished off the matte finish from the matte half of the ring and left several marks across the band. We had them fix this issue immediately but then they made the entire ring matte instead of (like in the photo) half the ring. We had them fix this new issue again. Later that night, we noticed pits (holes) and lines on the band where they added gold to size the ring up. You could clearly tell where they cut and soldered the band back together. We took the ring back to Montgomery to get them to fix this issue because those holes and lines not only look bad but could be a weak point for the ring to break at. After they fixed that latest problem, I asked the jeweler, a young guy with dark hair, if there was anything he could do in the way of a refund or anything. As many people I talked to about this agreed, these issues should have never happened in the first place and then the fact that I had to take off work and go back to the store a second time was unacceptable. His first response to me was “I can cut the gold out.” After several minutes of going back and forth, he said that I would not be charged for all the work they’d done to fix the issues…. Um yeah THAT’S a given! There wouldn’t have been extra work to be done if they had done it correctly the first time. A very disrespectful and rude response to a customer who has been having issues with a brand-new ring. He said that he values his work and checks everything before finishing it, but how can you value your work when you hand back a ring that looks nothing like how it started AND has obvious marks through the side (see images). If he had been understanding, I might not be writing this review; but he decided to have smart-alack responses to my genuine questions. EXTREMELY disappointed in the customer service and work quality. Will tell everyone I know about how my ring and myself...
Read moreUnfortunately, I would not recommend this business to anyone looking to get jewelry appraised or resized. I took my vintage engagement ring to be resized to a smaller size. The ring was taken down approximately 1/4 of a size. Within 2 weeks, the ring had completely split at the seam where they had mended it. My ring was in half. We took the ring back to Montgomery Jewelers to be repaired... The woman at the front of the store told us it may have broken because it was fake, and made the comment 3 or 4 times after examining the ring herself. They repaired it free of charge, but now there is a faint line where the ring was repaired. Worried after her unkind comments, we took it to a different jeweler and had it valued and appraised- it is not fake, thankfully, and we will not be returning to Montgomery’s again for our...
Read moreMr. Montgomery created a custom Necklace for us from two other existing pieces and was extremely helpful in bringing a design to life that started as only a simple hand drawn sketch. He was also willing to educate me in the process about jewelry making and picking gems, allowing me to make an informed decision on what we should include on the piece. The staff was very friendly and straight forward. Many Jewelry stores are pushy, where they were completely reasonable and we even stopped in multiple times until we made up our minds about what we wanted. We highly recommend Montgomery's Jewelry for...
