We rent vacation homes several times a year since retirement and have had a variety of experiences in spite of reading every review and comment as well as every bit of information about the properties we decide on. Still we have had some unexpected challenges with a few properties that weren't a part of our travel plans.

TurnKey made our Steamboat rental so very easy and there was nothing to complain of before, during or after our stay. They were eager to communicate with us and keep us informed of early check in or late departure offers as well as everything we needed for a smooth stay. They responded to text messages immediately and were so very knowledgeable.

The rental was complete with little luxuries like tissue boxes in each room, new kitchen sponge and scrub stick, plenty of dishwasher detergent as well as laundry detergent and dryer sheets, plenty of hangers, well equipped and clean kitchen for real cooking, clean fridge and nothing in the whole town home that needed washing before our use. They obviously have very high standards. I'm assuming these are requirements of being one of their rental properties.

After having had a couple really unfortunate rentals, we decided to opt for management company rentals when possible to avoid poorly maintained property issues that we'd encountered by renting from the owner. We have had better results doing this until August when we were put in a really unfortunate rental situation where the management company was eager to listen, but unable to correct the problems in the rental during our 8 day stay. They offered a free night's stay to compensate, but you'd agree that was almost comical if I took the time to explain. . .

I hadn't researched TurnKey until the end of our stay and was delighted to know they are an Austin based company. Our son is a Longhorn and we've spent a lot of time in Austin. Wish we'd used TurnKey for our July Lake Austin rental and perhaps we wouldn't have had hitchhiking moths fly out of our suitcases at our next stop that trip and lay eggs to hatch out a few weeks later! My husband and I rented a nice condo at 135 11th St. Steamboat Springs, CO from July 29- Aug. 5th. When we arrived, there was no water but one call and someone came within 10min and solved the problem easily. We loved the space, the location and the ease of renting from you. We know that all homes have idiosyncrasies. One specific item that you should

tell all renters is that the double door refrigerator does not always close properly. If a door is slightly ajar the fridge goes into shut down mode. We awoke to a fridge full of food for the week registering at 70 degrees. Yikes! Fortunately nothing was ruined, but if you would call attention to this it would be helpful. Otherwise, we had no complaints and really enjoyed ourselves. Walking all over town was a real plus. The neighborhood was a blast with two breakfast choices and a great restaurant/bar next door. Beautiful home with plenty of space for our 2 families (4 adults + 4 kids). HDTV in each bedroom, well stocked with clean linens, fully stocked kitchen and massive dining table this unit has everything you need and more to call home. Balcony overlooks the heated pool/jacuzzi with views of the mountain and slopes. Incredibly comfortable, cozy, and most of all convenient. This is truly ski in/ski out and what's worse (in a good way) the ski valet will ruin all future ski trips for you because it literally doesn't get any better than having someone collect your ski/boots before/after each day - they warm your boots if you call 15 min ahead of time. My only hang up was with the TV... Since we're on vacation we like to watch movies and while there is a huge flat screen TV it's a guessing game on how to use some of the different programming options so a cheat-sheet would have been welcome.
