The Dulles 28 Centre is an excellent shopping plaza that is conveniently located off RT 28 (technically it is in Sterling, but it very close to Ashburn, VA.)
The stores and restaurants my family and I go to here include (in order of popularity / frequency): Wegmans, Target, Chick-Fil-A, Chipotle, Potbelly, Cold Stone Creamery and DSW.
Overall, this is a very easy place to access with a few different points of entry. However, there is often a ton of traffic in the area. The intersection between Wegmans and Target is especially difficult to cross - FYI.
Apart from the great selection of stores and restaurants, another benefit of this plaza is the playground, which also is known as the Dulles Airplane Park. It is a circular, gated playground area with equipment for all ages and a padded surface. Since there is one point of entry / exit in the playground, it is easy to keep track of your kids. My youngest daughter LOVES going here to run around and play. It is well-lit at night, which is great during the summer, because it gives parents a place for their kids to get their energy out.
The one drawback of this area - not just Dulles 28 Centre - is that there is not a gas station nearby. You will have to drive a couple of miles up the road into Ashburn or the opposite direction - towards Sterling - to get to one. It is possible that one gets built in the years ahead since there is so much development in the area. Not a deal-breaker by any stretch, but just something to be aware of.

Read moreWe like to go to Wegmans when shopping is for more than a couple of things we need urgently. Although we've frequented this part of the Dulles 28 Center, we've rarely gone site shopping anywhere else at that location. However more recently we've had to visit the local Verizon store, and as it turned out once you arrive at the store , one is told they will call us on the mobile when a spot is available to meet with an advisor. We therefore took the opportunity to go for what turned out to be a pleasant and enlightening tour of the mall grounds. Lots of stores, and places people need to visit from time to time, and a host of other facilities, all of which appear to have been planned for ease of shopping at a sites beyond the smaller shopping centers found in the many smaller ones in the region. I would definitely recommend visiting the place just to see where things are for future...
Read moreThis is not a review of any specific retail stores or restaurants, the location and selection of things is great, seems fairly static even through the worst of the pandemic. But the shopping center itself... Ouch. This is a modern example of failed urban planning. The traffic pattern and intersections were given no thought. It's so bad the county sheriff's office gives up at least two units a day to just shut certain intersections down or make them one way. Probably too many accidents. Their presence doesn't help the flow, just keeps it safer. Needs to be reconstructed with better entrances and exits and stop signs that don't span 2-3 lanes. Off the top of my head only Tyson's Corner...
