I hadn't tried this ostensibly Persian kabob place in a few years. I decided to give them a shot at lunch today, but probably should have continued avoiding them.
Three gentlemen worked the front desk, one of whom was badly in need of a shower. While one employee entered a phone order on the far register, blocking the closer register from use, a second stood behind, chopping pita in half. The third smiled apologetically at me, and after a few more nods and smiles, was able to take my order, the lamb kabob with rice.
I was immediately handed a rather stingy serving of pita (two quarter pieces), a small plastic container of sour white yogurt (completely devoid of cilantro), and a buzzer. After a relatively short period of time, my buzzer announced the arrival of the main course.
Seven small pieces of lamb sat along the edge of a plastic plate, dwarfed by a huge pile of white rice with a small handful of yellow saffron rice dropped on top. Two burned halves of a Roma tomato capped either end of the pile, and a small pad of butter sat atop.
The lamb was flavorful, mildly tough, and uncharacteristically dry. The rice was quite plain when not matched with the saffron and butter.
All in all a disappointment...

Read moreI suggest providing training to your front staff to double check orders placed over the phone. During my recent call to place an order, I encountered difficulty communicating with the person who answered the phone. It appeared that the employees at the restaurant do not not speak much English. The person did not repeat my order to confirm its accuracy. When I arrived to pick up my order, the staff member kept asking for my name, which he had obtained from caller ID, causing confusion since I had no idea what he was saying. Unfortunately, there was an error with my order, as I requested meat over salad but received it over rice instead. The staff member appeared frustrated and even angry. To make matters worse, when he couldn't locate my order, he accused me of calling the wrong location. Although the food was decent, the prices have increased while portions have become smaller. I'd go somewhere else or cook at...
