We bought a GE range from Sterling Appliance in July. They were clear and transparent throughout the process, and while prices were equitable to big box stores, the installation and customer service were top notch. We had an issue with the first one installed (manufacturer defect), and they arranged a new delivery quickly. The following 2 deliveries were unsuccessful, but only due to manufacturer error (using forklift and damaging the stove before it was even out of the box). The installers (who also hook up the gas and don’t need to have a second team come out - major plus for Sterling Appliance) were quick to point out what they saw before bringing the stove into our home each time and called the store directly for us. Read moreI got a Sharp drawer microwave from Sterling Appliance in November 2024. It cost almost $1400. We can skip over that it needed to be delivered 3 times and it was always damaged. The microwave is a lemon. It does not heat anything. I’ve called Sterling Appliance and they keep blaming the microwave supplier (Sharp) but the need to accept some responsibility and stop pushing the blame. They are selling this product and need to stand behind it. Sharp has a manufacturers warranty and they sent a company from Richmond to fix it. It was fixed for a week and it doesn’t heat again. I called again. Sharp is now ignoring me and Sterling Appliance takes no responsibility.
UPDATE: Sharp sent a second technician who was unable to fix it. Sharp says only Sterling Appliance can refund the microwave. It’s been 9 months and I have had a working microwave for about a month total. Sterling Appliance says only Sharp can...
Read moreWe visited the Sterling store yesterday to look at new refrigerators. I don’t enjoy appliance shopping, but we were fortunate to work with Andre who made the process easy. He was working with another customer when we walked in and the store was somewhat busy. But, he kept checking in on us while we looked around. He listened to what we wanted and gave us good insight into the various manufacturers products, features, etc. I typically don’t like to buy the add-on warranty services, but with Sterling Appliances policy to refund 1/2 of it if it hasn’t been used in 5 years, I felt it was worth it on a large purchase, just in case.
We last bought from Sterling Appliance years ago. And am glad we went back yesterday. If you need someone to take you through the appliance purchase process, ask for Andre....
