Not one to usually leave reviews but my boyfriend was treated with the up most DISRESPECT today and yet he STILL made a purchase over $450 today We sat and waited to look and make a purchase of a bow today for nearly 20 minutes with TWO people behind the counter handling ONE customer. My boyfriend procedded to go over to ask for help amd a woman Jamie (older tan blonde short hair woman) rolled her eyes looked over to my boyfriend and said "i can't help and he is busy with a customer" no sorry for the wait will be right with you and just turned her head and countiue to chat with the other worker a older gentalman Randy and the ONE customer. Finally after hearing me complain Randy comes over gets my boyfriend the equipment he needed because my boyfriend has been standing here for going on 30 minutes or longer now and KNOWS what he already needs and wants to purchase we simply just need them to hand the items over. While Randy is handing us the items we need to carry to check out I hear the blonde hair lady Jamie say to the white customer (so sorry for the wait sir) simply boiled my blood. Hint the customer getting the good correct treatment IS WHITE my boyfriend is black. Hate to say it's about race but the way he was treated by the older generation at academy was uncalled for and simply far from good customer service. Love most of the products in this store but customer service is lacking or maybe the corporate policy is. If you give someone a copy of your order that was sent to you when you placed the order and call to change the pick up person to your daughter instead of yourself there should be a way a manager can approve that! Well I guess there isn't or the manager is to lazy to do it. With Covid I rarely go to town and didn't think I had anyone going today so I select Me as the pick up person. I live 30 min from the store. I needed the product soon or I would have had it shipped. Now I will make a special trip or cancel the order all together which is what I am thinking I will do. They have lots of items on clearance! I love a great bargain, and their selection of name brands are fantastic. Getting back into some sports and liked what I saw in the golf section. Today was waste some time day between appointments so, I had time to walk around and browse the entire store! 🙃 Hard to differentiate between some employees and regular customers (gun and archery counter excluded--they had vests) is my only negative.
