My family (3 members) & I stopped one afternoon to replace a garage door opener battery. The store rep had difficulty in opening the remote, so I opened it for her. She tested the battery, said it was completely dead which struck us as odd since it did work (with some continuous pressing as we left home) but so be it. She noted it’s a lithium battery & the charge $20. After replacing the battery, she stated that of course we cannot test now but upon trying later, if it does not work, to open and flip the battery, it’s probably in upside down, (again, kind of odd not to note battery’s position, particularly since the installation of all kinds of batteries are their business) but so be it. I said okay & asked if after all that it doesn’t work, can I bring it back & she said, yes. Upon arriving home, it did not work; followed instructions & still did not work. My sister & I returned the next morning & another rep was on duty & we explained the situation. She tested the battery & said it was showing as good; at any given time, we (the customer) cannot see the tester or reading. I further explained that I followed instructions as given. The present rep phoned whom she told my sister and I to be the person who waited on us yesterday, only to find out that it was not, and this female stated that once the item is opened there is no refund or nothing that they can do. I stated regardless if it was you or not, the present rep called you for a reason, so you're responding as rep of this store & it's your responsibility to reply to the fact that I have a non-working battery after following instructions as given by YOUR employer as well as permission to return if not working. And if you are in the position of authority then why not phone the supposed correct attendant & attempt to resolve the issue? I asked for at least a store credit & was still denied. Then after all the conversation back & forth and hanging up the phone, the present rep said, the person who served me would be in later that day after 2PM and we could TRY speaking to her. I don’t live near the mall, it was a visit with family from out of town and there wasn’t a likelihood of coming back again anytime soon and my sister and I couldn’t understand why we couldn’t be serviced while we were there. I asked for my original battery back, the attendant gave me one like it, uncertain if it was mine or not but in the interim of getting a new battery, I tried and it did not work.
This complaint relates to Customer service, Product, Refund/Exchange, Repair, and Sales & Service. I would have initially accepted a store credit; that would at least state and show good faith on the store's behalf. After this incident, I read reviews on this store and unfortunate and sad to say they were all similar to mine (product/repair failure, customer service, etc.). It's an injustice to the consumer. I now just want a refund and lodging a formal complaint with the Better...
Read moreThis was such a rollercoaster experience. Almas doesn't know much about watches, and doesn't refund because of her mistakes. Went with my grandma to try on watches and have her see which better suited her. Almas seemed very kind and helpful. We chose a Seiko solar watch, which doesn't need a battery because it is powered by sunlight. I paid Almas and then she said, let me just put a new battery in. I told her it's solar and doesn't have a battery. She just went ahead and had her assistant take the watch apart to change the "battery". She comes back and says, oh this doesn't have a battery. Well. I then wanted Almas to take some links off to better fit my grandma's wrist. She then again takes it to her work area, and then says, oh we need to take it to our watch repair person to remove the links. At that point I was just gonna ask for my money back because this seemed silly, but gave benefit of the doubt. Went back a week to pick it up. I set the time on the watch. Later in the day I noticed the time was not moving. Knowing it is a solar watch I set it in the daylight a whole day, but still no watch movement. Went back 2 days later and told the young assistant the problem. Told me they would look at it. Went back again and Almas told me it is something about the battery but their watch repair person would fix it. I told them I need it by Sunday because my grandma was leaving. She said it will be ready Friday. Went Friday and lo and behold it was not ready. I asked for a refund and Almas said no, even though she had admitted it was her fault of opening the watch after I told her it doesn't have a battery. Then they couldn't change the links. Almas has no clue of watches and she probably teaches her assistant what little she doesn't know. Almas told me I could get another watch. I wasn't about to drag my grandma again in there to find another watch. Left and did eventually go back to exchange it for 2 other watches. Well, one of those watches the light button was not working. Went back again to exchange that one. This place needs a better owner that actually knows at least a bit of watches. Ask for a receipt, even though they just write it on a business card, because that was the only way I could have exchanged the watches and had credit of...
Read moreBEWARE!!!!!!!! Whatever you do PLEASE do not patronize this business!!! After observing a sign outside of the store saying they repair batteries and watches my husband and I decided to stop. The lady told us that it would take less than 15 minutes to repair. After approximately 25-30 minutes the lady returned to the counter with my husbands watch taken apart saying they could not repair battery and could have it ready by tomorrow because they were getting ready to close (sounds crazy right?!). My husband declined the offer and requested his watch back. Upon receiving back we observed the watch display to have a broken piece and the face of the watch to be crooked. The lady refused to admit her daughter (who was fixing watch) damaged my husbands watch that he's had 3 years. She actually had the audacity to tell her daughter to leave the store. She made up a story about sending it off to the repair shop and having back within a week but could not guarantee a date. After realizing the owner was not going to take responsibility we life. Upon leaving the store we went to another watch repair shop and he advised that the face of the watch had been tampered with. He also stated there was a piece missing from the inside of the watch.
With this said ......DO NOT TRUST THEIR BUSINESS! They are very untruthful and will practically lie until they're blue...
