Ace Home Center Mystic — Local services in Stonington

The staff is extremely pleasant but the had my stihl chainsaw for over 10 months. I had to go in several times to check on it never received any calls or updates. I actually finally got it back today and the service folks there told me that the cost was over 350 dollars on a 500 dollar chainsaw because the deemed it my fault. I had the chain saw for 1 day. The chain break was stuck and it burned up the motor. I would stay away from this place at all cost. It cost me over 350 dollars to learn that lesson. They said the stihl wouldn’t do anything. So I would consider other options than stiel as well. I have never been so disappointed in true value and stihl. I hate to say it but the big box stores may be better to deal with and I am now a husqvarna client as this whole experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Again Indian choices here but I would stay away from the mystic true value I know I will never go in...

Shopped Sunday morning, June 21st just after opening. I was surprised to see no staff wearing masks. I sent a note to the contact email on their website asking them to explain - no answer. I then wrote to the True Value corporate email - no answer. I will not give my business to a company that won't protect their customers to ensure their safety during the pandemic.

Update on October 11th - haven't been in the store for 3 months took a chance on trying again. The man in front of me in the checkout line had no mask on. That means he entered the store, with doors clearly marked that masks are required, and no staff confronted him as he shopped. The cashier flirted with him as he checked out, rather than ask him to put on a mask - I guess the management and staff believe Covid-19 is just a hoax. Very sad and I will go to Home Depot or Lowes...

I go there often and have always liked the place. I went there today looking for a filter for my Craftsman vacuum. The filters they had said they fit more than the Rigid vacuums. I had the Craftsman number but there was no crossover chart. (I would take a 1/4 point off for this) They had a filter that looked like it would work except for the metal plate where the fastener went on mine. I asked at the desk and the guy looked it up for me and I could see the search came up empty so I left. The guy actually chased me down in the parking lot to tell me it was the right filter! I bought it and it fits! It's longer than the Craftsman filter so it doesn't need the hole for the fastener. It's...
