I highly recommend purchasing new ski equipment from Ski Essentials or Pinnacle Sports in Stowe Vermont.
I donât buy ski equipment very often but when I do I want to demo the skis first. After I tried out a pair of Rossignol 94 TI 173's that I rented from Pinnacle Sports, I decided to purchase them through their sister company Ski Essentials. I had somewhat of a convoluted proposal for the purchase of these skis because I wanted to combine three credits that I anticipated having with Pinnacle Sports that I wanted to apply to the purchase of the skis.
I sent an email to Ski Essentials with my proposal regarding the credits which included an item I had yet to return. Mike at Ski Essentials made the deal incredibly easy and reminded me that there was an additional sale taking another 10% off what was already a very reasonable price of this discounted 2020 ski. Mike did not wait for me to return the item before giving me the credit. He then arranged to bring the skis up to Pinnacle Sports the next day where I was able to drop off my boot to have a binding adjustment and safety check performed at no additional charge as well as returning the item for the credit I had already received.
So, whether you are in Vermont, Colorado, California or anywhere else I encourage you to shop first at Ski Essentials. There is free shipping on any orders over $49 and as far as I can tell they have the cheapest prices in...
Read moreAvoid boot shop. On the spring sale last year I was sold a pair of boots. Come to find out the boots are women's boots. I am not a women. Perhaps there are Cosmetic differences only but non the less I was not informed of this. Used the boots once it got cold and they would not get on or off my feet without causing harm to my body. Yes they sold me ill fitting women's boots. When I went to discuss they said sure we"ll do an exchange. I was very happy until I was shown a pair of boots that did not appeal to me and the salesman told me it didn't matter what the boots looked like as If there was a problem not excepting a really ugly designed boot. Again pushing a product that served reducing their inventory instead of the customers needs. When I pushed back I was finally fit with a boot that I liked and fit well. Yes folks thats why were here. When I got to the register the sales person told me the cost I owed would be almost double. He never told me that. I then asked for my got money back and they gave it to me. You decided after hearing this if you should trust your boot purchase to...
Read moreHonestly this place was very disappointing. I used their website to assist me with buying skis and it they were extremely helpful and knowledgeable. But the friendliness and expertise stop once you enter the shop
The guy assisting us with a demo was friendly but clearly didn't know that much about women's skis. When we asked him was the differences were between the two pairs he suggested, he didnt really know and said well a lot of women tend to like these.
We also asked him if we could apply the demo credit to purchase skis in the future if we wanted. Him and another rental employee said you can do that but ask a cashier for details.
So the next day we go to return the skis and try a different pair, but first decided to ask a cashier for the details of buying skis later with the demo credit. The cashier was very rude about it and indicated you cannot apply the demo credit later, despite what the rental guys said.
After that we returned the skis and decided not to demo...
