HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE!
Upon arrival at 2:45PM no one was to be found! We checked out the grounds and to our disappointment the hot tub was stained yellow and looked very unclean. The sauna was out of order and the pool was dated. We finally got checked in after 3PM when staff decided to show up.
Booking this hotel we were counting on having breakfast that they advertised. Breakfast wasn’t open at 6:30AM 7, or even 7:30 and we ended up going to McCarthys down the road for breakfast (highly recommend, it was much better than the loaf of bread on the table and bowl of granola at the “resort”) before our day of hiking and sight seeing.
Staff was not helpful like advertised. They came in at 8AM and lobby (which is advertised as “family friendly” and “welcoming”) was closed promptly at 8PM, everything dark and locked up. God forbid we lose a room key or lock ourselves out we didn’t even have a number to call or anyone to reach, should we need assistance! Horrible hospitality. We were so fed up we finally talked to a young man at the front desk and he gave us the owners number, we called right then and there and the phone rang in the lobby! He was trying to pull one over on us. Still trying to connect with the owner, whos number we did end up getting, unfortunately it goes straight to voicemail.
Do not book this hotel. It is not worth the $150 we paid. We will be asking for a refund or some kind of compensation. The man at the front desk even said “people book online for $80 a night” . Very unprofessional and it seems as though the owner is just pocketing money and not living up to what he advertises. BOOK SOMEWHERE ELSE. I will be back to Stowe, but definitely will not be returning to...
Read moreTo call this place a resort is quite an overstatement. They advertise a spa but where is it? Don't expect the front desk to tell you anything about the hotel when you check in because they'll greet you with the enthusiasm of a brick. The staff is in desperate need of some hospitality lessons.
Clearly this place is a renovated motel and I can appreciate that but the new furniture and decor is all for nothing if your guests are sleeping on old worn out, terrible mattresses.
There are certain amenities you'd expect from a "resort" that you won't find here like a restaurant or a bar.
The rooms meet a minimum standard for cleanliness but there is much room for improvement. The carpet had many obvious stains. And the room reeked of sanitizer spray. We had some missing light bulbs and some mystery light switches that apparently did nothing. The bathroom was clean, but had no hand soap!
Over all it's not the worst hotel I've stayed in but they definitely over-promise and under-deliver when it comes to quality and service.
On top of everything, the free Wi-Fi...
Read moreThis place is an absolute trash pile of a roadside motel. The beds were ridden with bed bugs. Not an exaggeration, there were blood stains and droppings in the bed upon check-in.
Don't worry, you won't notice since the room only had three total lights: One in the mold-smell ridden bathroom, a bedside lamp that did not have a light bulb in it at all, and a lamp on the dresser whose lampshade was so stained that light barely escaped it.
After 20 minutes in the dark, you'll probably be drenched in sweat since the room's A/C is nonexistent. You can always cool off in their imaginary "Indoor pool." The line about an indoor pool on this site and all others is a lie. When asked upon check-in, the woman pointed to the pool outside. I think after running a motel for bugs for so long they've forgotten the difference between indoors and outdoors.
When we asked the morning bus boy who was seemingly working the desk to speak to a manager or the owner, he shrugged and said that he had no way of contacting them.
Stay. Away. From....
