Went to lunch on October 14th at noon so they had been about an hour. My wife and I met the hostess who told us it was about a 15 minute wait for a table of two inside. No worries, we gave her our phone number and sat on the bench about ten feet away. We waited for about a half hour where in the interim multiple parties of two came in and were seated. Eventually we went to our hostess to ask what was going on. She said they had been trying to message us about five times and our table was ready. Now, I'll accept partial blame. We're from out of town so our service has been in and out, so we never got those messages. BUT... We were about ten feet next to the hostess, just us, for a half hour. Within visible eye range. No other people were on the bench so there's no way we could have been confused for a different party. At any point in that entire time she could have turned to us and said, "hey guys your table is ready". But that seemed to be too much work. Instead messaging us five times was the solution. So we were a bit flabbergasted.

The food was good. The garlic knots and the pizza were really fresh and had good flavors. Credit where credit is due.

Back to bad service. Our waiter seemed more interested in pushing us buying another round of garlic knots then he did getting refills for our drinks, only coming back at the end and refilling things. I don't know if we were written off for a wash of a table because we were already a bit frustrated from the hostess experience, but it was pretty disappointing. The cherry on the top of this all was when we did get our refills the waiter asked if we were ready for our bill, which seemed kind of rushed considering we had been there about thirty minutes, but we agreed and he pulled out an electronic bill. He proceeded to stand there. Hold the bill. And make eye contact with me while it asked for gratuity and to sign. Super uncomfortable. I'm all for waiters getting paid liveable wages and for tipping. But providing poor/average service at best, then standing and making eye contact asking for a tip was bizarre.

The food was decent, but the service was trash which was such a shame. When we come back to town we won't be going back...

Outstanding experience all around! Such a cool, laid back, funky atmosphere. Truly a local Vermont-style restaurant. If you need to know what I mean, take a look at the artwork and the super cool cow statue on the front lawn! First off: we visited in the summer and sat outside on the patio. Didn't have to wait too long (8-10 mins) as they cleared and cleaned a space. There is a small waiting area, but parents: there is a good size arcade in the waiting area! So if you have impatient little ones have them run amok in the arcade while waiting for your table! Server was amazing. Engaging, fun, and went out of their way to ensure we felt taken care of. Please see pics of the charcuterie plate and mussels that we got to share. The mussels were out of this world. Creamy broth, but not heavy - very light and easy to get full on the crispy bread they service alongside. The rest of the food and drinks were so good they didn't last long enough for a photo! The photo I got of the patio was terrible - but it shows how private and shaded the location was. My family members got pizza and garlic knots; the staple of this location. My youngest, the pickiest, got the buttered pasta and was asking for another serving. My other daughter knew what she was doing: she only ordered the truffle fries. I was concerned she was going to hate them or that she wouldn't have enough to eat. I was wrong. The flavor of the truffle fries were PERFECT. You know how sometimes it's so overpowering that you have one fry and give up? Not the case. Light, flavorful, not overpowering. My daughter had trouble keeping all of us from stealing her fries. No one was left hungry or unhappy! This should be your stop for pizza/Italian style foods when you are in Stowe. There was a massive bar with drink specials. The parking lot was just alright - tight at times, but that just means they are doing something right! Get here early and often! I cant wait for our ski trip this upcoming winter...I'll be looking for warm pizza, truffle fries, and some awesome drinks...

I've been coming here for many years and my last two experiences have left a terrible taste...

During my first experience back a couple of months ago, a few friends and I dropped in to grab some slices but thought if we could get a table (aware that was unlikely), we'd sit down. I popped by the host counter and asked the nice young lady if there was any availability for us to sit down, order a beer, and eat some slices. Before she could even get a word out, a man (big with gray hair who I see there all the time and assume to be the manager) got off his computer in the back area and barreled over to the counter mockingly asking us if we REALLY thought that we would get a table at a time like this and that they do not have openings until 9pm and good luck getting a reservation anywhere on short notice. He scoffed at us, almost lectured us. I live here in Stowe, and I work in the industry, I get it. But in my eyes, it never hurts to ask as a customer and it never hurts to give people the benefit of the doubt as an employee. It was rude, off-putting, and frankly, unnecessary. So, what do we do? Get our slices and are kindly told by the nice girl working the pizza counter that we are welcome to head outside and take a seat on the picnic bench where some folks just finished up (wow, that was easy!).

Regardless, with "benefit of doubt" in mind. I tried again. This time, calling ahead to order a take-out salad for my girlfriend to pick up on her way to work. A $22 greek salad w/ shrimp. Upon getting to work, she opened the bag to find this. Once again, I understand that places make mistakes, but when charging $22, this is a sad sight.

I know that 99% of the staff here are great, hard working people, but after a bad attitude from management and a take-out experience like that, this is a place that I will no longer be recommending to my customers...
