I've been coming up and staying at the Village Green at Stowe since I was a young child. It's got a huge nostalgic appeal to me which might add nuance to my review.
The decor is admittedly dated. It's spacious, functional, not showy, but comfortable. Could use more pillows or ones with better support. The kitchen supplies are often a touch worn, and there are things that are showing their age (tile grout, some areas where paint is starting to chip) but remains in tact. It's all very clean.
There are amenities down at the rec area, two pools, indoor and outdoor, a Jacuzzi, a dry sauna, two full locker rooms, a ping pong table, some arcade games, some board games, tennis courts and more.
It's halfway between downtown Stowe and the Notch. It's at the halfway point of the rec path, making it ideal to hop on and enjoy. The views from the fields surrounding the condos are amazing, allowing for quiet contemplation. Occasionally a deer or woodchuck can be seen from the rec center. Chipmunk and raven friends abound in the summer.
On the whole, a great family friendly place that allowed you to make your vacation work your way.
Tip: Sunday features a gamers market in summer months, it's within walking distance. Can't recommend...
Read moreVillage Green Unit 8F. Place is very dated but cozy, you can tell the owner puts thought into the guests needs, well done, thank you. Unit is cleaned but the complex itself looks like it needs a good face lift, just rundown. I would return to 8F, it's budget friendly and comfortable but complex management needs to learn from 8F ownership. Just not well kept, could be a hidden Gem in Stowe. Service gets 1 star due to booking.com/Vacasa, not on site customer service at the office who was very helpful. Emailed Vacasa about where to find laundry facility as advertised in Amenities, emailed me back me to go look in town when I found the laundry room 50 yards away, which by itself is minor, but shows a big disconnect with the...
Read morePleasant stay overall. Great location. Not much was walkable from here, but was less than five to ten minute drive to all the notable shops and restaurants. It was also closer to the mountains so we didn't have to go through the town every time we wanted to venture out. Very quiet and clean. A little outdated in general, but had cable, wireless internet and coin laundry machines outside the office. Inside our unit was well taken care of, had comfy beds, plenty of quick hot water and all the amenities we'd need for a long stay. We didn't mind that one of the bedrooms was loft style either, and thankfully there were several fans throughout the place to cool down the upstairs...
