This really should be two separate reviews: One as a buyer and one as a seller (consignor). As a buyer, Choice has a great selection of furniture at good prices. The showroom is large and the furniture is well displayed. I've bought a number of pieces from them since they opened. As a consignor, however, it's a totally different experience. I brought a number of pieces to them at the beginning of December 2018. I was told I would receive payment for any items sold (less their 50% commission) in December by the end of January. I stopped by the store at the end of December to check what items had sold. I noted a few of the pieces had. When I still hadn't received a payment by the beginning of February, I stopped by again. This time I spoke to the owner who said he would have their bookkeeper call me. A few days later she did. She told me the pieces that sold in December and the amount I would be receiving in payment. Well, to you folks still reading this, want to guess what I've received as of February 25th? If you guessed nothing, you're right!! I see other reviewers here have had similar experiences. Perhaps this is typical at most consignment shops but I, for one, am very disappointed in Choice Furniture Gallery. UPDATE!!! It is now March 8th. Still have received no payment. Called bookkeeper yesterday and left message. No return call as yet. 2nd UPDATE: Pardon me! I received a return call from the bookkeeper and was informed that if I reread the contract, Choice has up to 120 days to pay you from the time your merchandise sells. I reread it and she is correct. Not a bad deal for them. The contract also states that under no circumstances, any goods you consign will be returned to you and if items don't sell they have the right to dispose of them as they see fit. Also not a bad deal for them considering they set the price and you're in the dark until your items sell and then you receive a receipt saying what the sale price was. This involves an element of trust over that stated sale price. Obviously I should have read this contract more closely. Lesson learned. I will go elsewhere in the future. 3rd UPDATE: It is now March 22nd and I still haven't received any payment from items sold in December. UNBELIEVABLE! 4th UPDATE: Today is April 20th and STILL NO PAYMENT!!! Hard not to think this is blatant dishonesty!! Would like suggestions of how to precede. 5th UPDATE: Finally received a payment May 15 for 2 items that were sold in early December. Curiously, the check was dated March 15. Read moreBE CAREFUL! This place has a decent of level of inventory with various levels of quality. The customer service is poor and the owners have no respect for their customers. Right after we moved to he area, we bought three pieces of furniture from this place, five days before they delivered them, we came back and bought another piece of furniture to have place to put the last four boxes of books we needed to unpack. They promised that this last piece of furniture would be delivered together with the other three pieces we had already purchased. When they came to deliver everything it turned out they did not bring the last piece we had bought. The driver said they would be back in the area the next day and they could bring it then. I called the store to confirm they would bring it the next day and spoke to a lady who informed us they would have to deliver the missing piece the following week. I explained to her that we had bought the piece because we needed it for the weekend. She refused to help, and when I asked her to please let me speak to her manager, she became rude and said she would not bother the owner. After insisting to have the situation corrected, the lady on the phone said they would deliver it by Friday and she would confirm. They never called. Suspecting they were not planning on delivering it, I took off from work on Friday morning and showed up at the store. It turned out that a lady who claimed to be the owner was overseeing all the furniture being loaded unto their truck. After I explained to her who I was and how I had to take off from work, she asked me in a sarcastic way where did I work. After she realized I was not happy, she lied and said she was going to have it delivered that day. It turned out the piece of furniture had not even been wrapped in plastic for transportation. We had noticed that the first 3 pieces we had bought had been removed from the floor and plastic-wrapped days before the delivery date. Avoid this place at all costs. Read moreMy worst furniture shopping experience. Floriana was the sales woman. I found her to be a little high pressure and pushy although that is her job. I was looking for a king size bedroom set. I wound up buying a metal bed frame. So after many times of hashing the price with me she decided to say the bed frame was $1299. And she immediately came down to 799 because I started to leave. I said I would go home and think about it. So after a few hours I decided to go ahead and buy this bed. I called and told her I would give her $700 cash complete deal. She said she would talk to her manager and immediately got back on the phone and told me that price was fine. Never was any delivery charges or any other charges including tax discussed with me. She told me that my furniture would be delivered and my old bedroom set taken and there would be a charge of $150 and then $.50 per mile additional charges to me. So I refused that deal and said I would pick up the bed by myself. She said I could pick up the bed any day between 9 and 10 AM. So when I texted her Monday morning and told her I was on my way to get the bed she was very patronizing calling me honey very disrespectful in that manner. She told me I could not pick up the bed that Monday because there was nobody there to take the bedframe apart. I told her to make a decision to either have my $700 refund or the bed ready for me to go being as she had already told me that I could pick it up any day between nine and 10. I don’t wanna go on and on with a rambling review I just want you to know to be careful. She is never clear on any of the details. And then she claims she’s just a sales person andhas nothing to do with anything else! Florida also claims she didn’t have this discussion about delivery charges etc. But little did she know my daughter and my husband were on the phone with me the whole time listening to her.
