I've been going to Almas for years now so it was a no brainer to go to her for my wedding clothes; she was someone I knew I could trust. Getting my wedding clothes from her was an absolute nightmare and she has definitely lost a client for life.
I ordered my mehndi and shaadi outfit back in July of 2018 for my December wedding; she said they would be in by mid-October. End of October comes and she says my wedding gown is in; mehndi outfit isn't ready yet. I custom made the wedding outfit and showed her a picture of exactly what I wanted; she said she could do it. I tried it on and looked like an actual trash bag; it looked nothing like what I asked for. She tried to blame it on me, but at the end she said she would remake it; she herself knew it was a hot mess.
End of November is here now and the mehndi outfit finally comes in. It was gorgeous, but a completely different color LOL You didn't think to mention in 2 months that you'd be changing the dress? Anyways, got the wedding dress and it was nice, but too loose (she took my measurements multiple times so idk how this wasn't fixed). She also added that the trash bag dress was sold to another client who loved it and that she made slits on it to open it up. I said, "great?"
I live in another city for school so I asked my aunt to pick up the outfit; she was sick that day so she had her assistant pick it up. I got a pic of it; I was super busy, but it looked fine. I come to houston for a day the week of my wedding and when I try it on it turns out she GAVE THE WRONG FREAKING DRESS. SHE GAVE THE ORIGINAL BACK TO US. WTH.
Almas calls crying saying her staff member packed the wrong dress and she wasn't there to see it get packed. I was over it. She came by with the correct wedding dress and that was that.
My aunt sees her assistant the following day and was like "yeah Almas said her staff member packed the wrong dress and she wasn't there etc" Her assistant goes "what are you talking about? Almas was there. She's the one who told the staff member to pack that dress."
I CAN'T LOL First she lies about selling the original to a client who was "in love with it" and then she lies about not being there when the old dress was given? Who the hell does that?
Almas, I hope you get back to where you used to be and are able to prioritize your...
Read moreIt has always been so hard to shop for high quality and on trend Indian outfits for any range of events here in the United States, but after discovering Almas Tejani Desi Couture, I feel like my dilemma was solved!
The first time I actually shopped there was the week of my wedding when we didn’t know if an outfit would come in time for one of the events. I went to Almas Tejani’s store and ended up buying 4 outfits for myself!! Since then I haven’t stopped buying outfits from there! I was even able to work with them and get an outfit made based of their design but in a completely different color! Before moving, I enjoyed stopping by the store on occasion just to see what’s in stock, but even now, I’m still able to shop and have outfits tailor made (or have pre-stitched outfits adjusted for me) via WhatsApp!
I always get so many complements when wearing outfits from their store and have recommended the store to ALL my friends & family looking to shop for Indian apparel in the states!
If you can’t tell, I absolutely love this store and HIGHLY recommend it to anyone looking for Indian clothes for events big or small!!
Almas aunty and the rest of the staff are always so incredibly friendly & responsive, which makes shopping there even more enjoyable!
As an added bonus, they have been collaborating with some of my absolute favorite Indian designers like Chamee & Palak!
Lots of love for...
Read moreAlmas Aunty and her daughter Zoya made my wedding shopping experience 100x better! I had been searching all over Houston to look for outfits for my family and I and we were sorely disappointed. As someone who is certainly not a model size, I was very worried about the Indian dress shopping experience. Thank goodness we found this boutique!
From the moment we walked in, the staff were polite, attentive, and never rushed us. In fact, when I decided I needed some time to think about the outfits, it was Zoya who suggested to me that it's important not to rush into a decision until I feel like it's perfect. Almas Aunty was so patient when my mother was having a difficult time choosing outfits and even brought out refreshments for us on a hot day. I ended up purchasing all of my wedding outfits from here. My sister and mother also have all their outfits from this boutique.
Moreover, now, as I am dealing with alterations, Almas Aunty and Zoya have been so responsive and happy to help to make sure I feel good in all of my lehengas. Their outfits are beautiful and very high quality. I am consistently blown away by their collection, their very reasonable prices, and their overall hospitality.
I will be a lifelong customer for these folks! They are basically family...
