I give this place 4.5 stars.
We heard of this new Indian place in Sugar Land that people were talking about so we went to check it out. This place is near other South Asian restaurants in the area.
There is plenty of parking and the area is very clean and well maintained.
This restaurant is semi-sit down place that serves various Indian snack items, entrees, and desserts. You order at the counter and they bring you your food. If you already grabbed a table then you tell them what letter table you are sitting which is above each table on the wall.
This restaurant is different from other Indian restaurants because it is actually nicely decorated and well thought out. It has nice art hanging on the walls and various decorations that are unusual(but very nice) for an Indian restaurant.
There is a self serve sambhar station and fountain drink area. The self serve sambhar is very good.
There were a lot of people waiting in line which cut through the restaurant so it was awkward to be waiting next to people that were eating. Ordering was very easy.
The food: Veg Hakka Noodles: Middle of the road. Not very flavorful. Banarasi Kachori Chat: Excellent. Probably the best dish of the night. Chicken Biryani: It was OK, not very flavorful. Paneer Tikka Masala: Very good Garlic Naan: Excellent, flavorful. Pani Puri Shots: 6 different flavors of "pani". I tried them all and they were interesting. Not your usual pani flavors. My wife enjoyed the dish.
Cons: They did not clean the floors often and there was food all over the floors. They picked up dishes on a rolling cart from table to table which was a turn-off. They can easily just pick up empty dishes and take them to the back.
One of the waitresses was very helpful. Turns out she was the chef's daughter. She was very nice and pleasant to talk to.
Overall, I would definitely come back to try the...
Read moreI recently visited Nirmanz Food Boutique and tried several popular items on their menu, including pani puri, dabeli, Bombay sandwich, and raj kachori. Unfortunately, my overall experience left much to be desired.
Starting with the pani puri, which is a beloved street food delicacy, I found the taste to be quite underwhelming. The puris lacked the crispness that is essential for this dish, and the tamarind chutney was overly sweet, throwing off the balance of flavors. The filling was also somewhat bland, which was disappointing.
Moving on to the dabeli, it had potential, but it fell short in execution. The bun was dry and crumbly, and the spiced potato mixture lacked the depth of flavor I expected. It felt like a missed opportunity to capture the authentic taste of this Gujarati snack.
The Bombay sandwich was another letdown. While the ingredients were fresh, the sandwich lacked the zing and spice that defines this street food classic. It tasted more like a basic vegetable sandwich, and I was expecting more complexity.
Lastly, the raj kachori failed to impress. The kachori shells were not as crisp as they should be, and the filling lacked the explosion of flavors that this dish is known for. It left me wanting more in terms of taste and authenticity.
In addition to the food, I found the service to be somewhat lackluster. The waitstaff seemed disinterested and inattentive, which detracted from the overall dining experience.
On a positive note, the ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant were commendable, and the prices were reasonable.
In conclusion, while Nirmanz Food Boutique offers a variety of Indian street food items, my visit left me unsatisfied due to the underwhelming taste and service. I hope they can improve the quality and authenticity of their dishes in the future to provide a more enjoyable...
Read moreI was amazed by the good reviews and the fact it was vegetarian. I was let down by the host who wasn’t kind enough to accommodate us on available space and made us wait outside with our kid and our guests. And dint have the Courtesy to invite us back in. That was where we started feeling disappointed. And the drinks came with even more disappointment when falooda shake came in a bottle with no resemblance to any falooda I have ever had. That was rose milk not falooda. My third disappointment was street food. Chana was bland in dahi papdi. And has like 4 papdis, very little chutney and no potato, lacks the basic skeleton of dahi papdi. ( even though it’s deconstructed) definitely a huge let down. Third was paneer sizzler ( which I ordered because the menu said it would be served in a sizzling plate ) but wasn’t and was also chewy and bland and felt like it was oven baked. Then our order of kofta, naans, and veg Jaipuri made its way to our table. But there again there was attitude when we got an extra order of naan that we did not place. Eyes were rolled and smirks were all over the place. And here the kofta was the sweetest and naans were the chewiest. Tandoori rotis we’re decent and I did like veggie frankie. It had flavors of Mumbai streets. But over all my special day wasn’t special anymore. And the bill I paid dint feel appropriate for the food or looks I got through out the evening. As much as I wanted to enjoy my experience, the...
